'Grey's Anatomy' Fan Jokes About Ellen Pompeo's Salary for Lying in Hospital Bed All Season

A TikTok video made by a Grey’s Anatomy fan is going viral for pointing out how much money Ellen Pompeo is making per episode while mainly lying in a bed.

For those that don’t know, Ellen‘s character Meredith Grey has been battling COVID-19 throughout season 17 and she has spent many episodes doing nothing but being in bed.

Ellen has also had the amazing opportunity to reunite with former castmates in scenes filmed on the beach. Such stars that have returned include Patrick Dempsey, T.R. Knight, Eric Dane, and Chyler Leigh.

It has been reported that Ellen earns $600,000 for each episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

The TikTok video made by user @anne_p21 shows the fan lying in bed with her eyes closed while the song “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol plays. The caption on the video says, “Ellen Pompeo knowing she’s making $600,000 per episode.” The video has been viewed over 268,000 times already.

One fan defended Ellen in the comments by saying, “To everyone saying ‘she’s not even there,’ you do realize that she’s been filming the beach scenes and also directing. She still earns every cent.”

To clarify, Ellen hasn’t directed any episodes this season, but she is on the show’s producing team.
