Hilaria Baldwin Reveals She Thinks of the Babies She Lost to Miscarriage 'Daily' in Emotional Post

Hilaria Baldwin is opening up about her miscarriages.

The 37-year-old author and wife of Alec Baldwin suffered a miscarriage in April 2019 and a pregnancy loss at 16-weeks in November 2019.

On Friday, Hilaria shared a candid post on Instagram about the experience in honor of Infertility Awareness Week.

“I had two miscarriages in a row in 2019–the second at 4 months. I was told ‘it’s just bad luck’…there is so much mystery why certain souls come into our lives and others do not,” she captioned a photo of her with her 7-year-old daughter Carmen which she first posted in November 2019 when announcing her miscarriage.

“Today this baby I cried for in this picture would have been about a year. April 23 was her 39 weeks. I had to go home and sleep with her inside of me for one more night before having surgery the next. This was the last photo of my girls at the time,” she continued.

“My face so swollen — I remember being surprised that the body could make so many tears—kept on thinking I’d run out of them. The next photo was a snap I took a day or so before I found out I had lost her. I looked tired, but happy…celebrating the pregnancy,” Hilaria said, referencing a photo of herself with a baby bump.

She expressed gratitude for her “constant companions” Edu, who she gave birth to in September 2020, and daughter Lucia, who was born via surrogate in March of this year, but admitted that she “[thinks] of the babies I lost daily.”

“Resigned and respectful of how my life has unfolded. Allowing for gratitude and grief, wholeness and longing to be the dualities of my reality,” she said and added, “We all have different fertility/infertility stories and there are so many ways we can become parents.”

In addition to Edu and Lucia and her eldest child Carmen, Hilaria and Alec are parents to sons Romeo, 2½, Leonardo, 4, and Rafael, 5½. Alec is also dad to 25-year-old daughter Ireland.

Hilaria recently compared herself to a “cow” while breastfeeding her two new babies!
