Billie Eilish Explains What Inspired Her to Go Blonde During Surprise Appearance on 'Ellen' (Video)

Billie Eilish is a surprise guest on the Tuesday (May 11) episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and she’s opening up about her new blonde hair!

The 19-year-old “Your Power” singer popped into the show by first appearing as a fan in the virtual audience and then Ellen had her join her for an interview on the big screen.

Ellen asked Billie about her decision to go blonde this year and the singer revealed what inspired her to make the big change.

“I’ve been wanting it blonde for a while. I don’t know what came over me. I saw a fan edit when I had green hair. It was like me, with whatever hair color I had, and they just edited blonde hair on me and I was like, ‘Ah! So sick! I want it!’” Billie said.

She continued, “So I kind of thought of it as a dream. I didn’t think it was going to happen because my hair has been through so much. I thought I would burn it all off if I tried, but I did it!”

Billie said it took about six weeks to fully go blonde, adding that her first appointment was on January 16.
