The star of the show opened up on Twitter about the decision.

Find out what she said…

“Before it goes out there in the world I want my fans to be the first to know that next Wednesday will be the last episode of Call Your Mother. You guys have been so wonderful to tune in every week, or every other week or every two weeks! The rollout was nuts!” she wrote, along with a facepalm emoji.

The comedy series, which follows an empty nest mother who decides to be close to her children by moving cross country from Waterloo, Iowa to Los Angeles to be with them, first launched in January to 3.4 million same-day viewers but is now one of ABC’s least-watched originals, via THR.

The show aired weekly from January to March and then became infrequent, airing every few weeks. The series returned on May 12 after not airing since April 21, and the finale will air on May 19.
