In the third episode of the show, Evan‘s character Colin Zabel has an extremely vulnerable drunken moment with Mare at a bar.

The actor shared that there was one moment while shooting the scene that he embraced director Craig Zobel because he was so convinced he had bombed his performance.

“The reason Craig and I were emotional and hugging,” he explained, “was because I was hysterically sobbing. I thought we didn’t get the scene. I was like, ‘We didn’t get, we didn’t get it. I can’t do this. I’m terrible. I’m going to shadow you, Craig, and be a director, because I can’t do it anymore.’ And he was like, ‘It’s okay. It’s cool, man. I think we got it.’… What’s going on with my internal judgment? Where I don’t even know if it’s good.”

The director also added that Evan had been drinking dixie cups full of apple cider vinegar every half-hour “to trigger sense memories” for the scene.

Evan was recently cast in another dark movie where he’ll be playing a very famous serial killer. Find out more here
