Pink Recalls Her Hilariously Awkward First Time Meeting Steve Buscemi

Pink is looking back at meeting Steve Buschemi before she was famous!

The 41-year-old superstar spoke with Jimmy Fallon about meeting the actor on The Tonight Show on Monday (May 17).

Jimmy explained that Steve had appeared on the show in February 2020 and talked about his first encounter with the singer.

According to Steve, Pink ran up to him before before she was famous and explained that her stage name was inspired by his character from his 1992 film Reservoir Dogs.

Pink confirmed that it was a “real story” and added, “To be fair, I ran at him on a New York street. I physically — I’m like a hummingbird with my love. I’m very aggressive.”

“I remember I was dressed in, like, a silver ensemble and I had short pink hair and a tongue ring and I [was like], ‘You’re Steve Buscemi and you’re Mr. Pink and I’m Pink and you’re pink and I’m going to be so famous and I just love you,’” she continued. “And he’s like, ‘What the f—?’ He was like, ‘Ahhh.’ I would’ve reacted that way too. I was a lot.”

Jimmy asked if they’d ever run into each other again and Pink said that they hadn’t.

“No. I mean, all this time, for like 20 years, I was like, ‘That guy hates me,’” she laughed.

Pink recently shared her thoughts about being pitted against other female musicians early in her career.
