Erika Jayne Alludes to Marriage & Legal Issues in 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Premiere

Erika Jayne‘s legal and marriage drama will soon be taking center stage in the new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

On Wednesday (May 19), the Bravo reality show returned for its season 11 premiere, and only hinted at what’s to come for the 49-year-old star.

If you forgot, Erika filed for divorce from husband Tom Girardi back in November 2020 after 21 years of marriage, claiming that he was cheating on her.

Shortly after the filing, Erika and the 81-year-old lawyer were sued for allegedly faking their divorce to embezzle money that was supposed to go to families who lost loved ones in a 2018 Boeing plane crash.

The episode began with Erika and the rest of the ladies dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. For Erika, her run as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway ended earlier than expected and she had to return home.

While Tom wasn’t on the episode, Erika did mention that her lawyer-husband was also have a difficult time during the pandemic because he can’t work as the courts are closed.

Towards the end of the episode, Erika attended a dinner party at co-star Dorit Kemsley‘s home where all the ladies discussed the hardest things they’ve faced during lockdown.

“Mine was very dark. Like all of us, I’m busy all the time and when I came home from New York it was really silent,” Erika shared. “And then when I didn’t have anything to do, I was walking down halls of the house and I couldn’t sleep and I couldn’t shake it.”

“I was feeling like this incredible dread. Who am I if I’m not working? Everyday I dreaded waking up,” she continued. “I called a psychiatrist and I went on Lexapro, an antidepressant, and it was the greatest thing. My problems are still there, but my attitude toward them is different.”

During her confessional, Erika alluded at more drama in her private life that the other ladies don’t yet know about.

“There’s so much that these women don’t know about my life and about my personal life,” Erika said. “You know what, everyone has problems. Everyone. And the bigger your life is, the bigger your problems are.”

After the premiere, all of the ladies appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. However, Erika did not appear, with Andy revealing that she isn’t doing press at this time..
