Early Report Reveals Martin Bashir Used Deceitful Methods For Princess Diana Panorama Interview

An early report about the findings of the investigation into Martin Bashir‘s interview with Princess Diana has revealed that he was guilty of using deceitful methods to secure the exclusive meeting.

If you’re unfamiliar with the interview, in Martin‘s discussion with the late royal, she had revealed the inner workings of royal life and her relationships with other members of the Royal Family, including her husband at the time, Prince Charles.

The discussion was also where Diana famously confirmed that there were “three of us” in her marriage to Charles, referencing Camila Parker-Bowles, who would go on to marry Charles in 2005.

There had been a six month inquiry into the tactics Martin had used to secure the interview with Princess Diana, and the findings will be confirmed on Thursday, according to The Telegraph.

The BBC had asked Judge Lord Dyson to oversee the investigation, which was then backed by Princes William and Harry.

Dyson‘s conclusion found that Martin was guilty of deceit and that he breached BBC guidelines in securing her interview.

It’s been reported that Martin had mislead Diana into believing that Charles impregnated their children’s nanny and William was spying on her for Charles.

Martin had also mocked up bank statements of tabloid payments which were shown to Diana‘s brother, Earl Spencer, and those were then used to gain his own trust, and in turn, Diana.

The Earl had provided Dyson with documents and evidence against Martin throughout the probe, which included eight pages of notes that revealed a list of allegations.

Just last week, it was announced that Martin had stepped down from his role as the Religion Editor at BBC for health reasons.

Previously, Martin had opened up about how Diana had been his main source for smear on the royal family.
