Phoebe Dynevor Is Finally Sharing Her Thoughts on Rege-Jean Page's Exit from 'Bridgerton'

Phoebe Dynevor is opening up with her thoughts on co-star Rege-Jean Page‘s exit from Bridgerton after just one season on the show.

For those who don’t know, Phoebe and Rege‘s characters Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset fell in love during the first season and got married. The next season will focus on another Bridgerton sibling’s journey to finding love and their characters will not be the focus.

While Phoebe will return for season two as Daphne, we unfortunately won’t see Rege as the Duke of Hastings in any future episodes.

During an interview on Variety‘s Awards Circuit podcast, Phoebe said that she knew about Rege‘s plans before the rest of the world. She also discussed how the show will be moving forward without him.

“I had a bit of a heads up so I knew but yeah, I guess it is a spanner,” Phoebe said. “But again, the show centers around the Bridgertons and there are eight books. I think maybe the fans of the books were more aware of that happening than the fans of the show.

She continued, “I think fans of the books know that every [season] is about a different sibling. And we’re very much passing the baton to the lovely Johnny, who plays Anthony. Obviously it’s sad to to see [Page] go but I’m looking forward to being reunited with my with my family.”

Season two is going to focus on Jonathan Bailey‘s character Anthony Bridgerton and he was just spotted filming with his new love interest.
