CNN Terminates Rick Santorum's Contract After Recent Comments Caused Outrage

Rick Santorum has finally been cut from CNN after years of liberal fans expressing their distaste for the commentator.

The 63-year-old former Republican senator has been a political contributor for CNN since 2017 and was an analyst throughout the 2020 presidential campaign and election.

CNN confirmed to multiple outlets that they have dropped Santorum, but a reason has not been given.

Last month, Santorum caused outrage when he made controversial comments about Native Americans while speaking at a Fight for Religious Freedom seminar.

“We birthed a nation from nothing. I mean, there was nothing here. I mean, yes, we have Native Americans but candidly there isn’t much Native American culture in American culture. It was born of the people who came here, pursuing religious liberty,” he said.

Santorum appeared on Chris Cuomo‘s CNN show on May 4 to say he “misspoke” and “was not trying to dismiss Native Americans.”

“They have a huge impact, particularly in the West and many other areas of the country, where they have a huge impact on American culture. I was talking about — and I misspoke in this respect — I was talking about the founding and the principles embodied in the founding. The way we treated Native Americans was horrific,” he said.

There was a big shakeup with a popular CNN show just last weekend.
