Anna Kendrick to Star in Upcoming Netflix True-Crime Movie 'Rodney & Cheryl'

Anna Kendrick is taking on an exciting new role.

The 35-year-old actress is set to star in the upcoming film Rodney & Sheryl for Netflix, per Deadline.

The movie is based on the real life story of Rodney Alcala, a serial killer who competed on and won a date on the popular TV game show The Dating Game in 1978.

At the time of his appearance on The Dating Game, Rodney had murdered five women and been convicted of the attempted murder of a 12-year-old girl. He made it on to the show due to the relaxed background checks at the time.

Anna will play Cheryl Bradshaw, the contestant who ultimately won a date with Rodney, and will revolve around the events of the game show.
