Gavin MacLeod Dead - 'Love Boat' Star Dies at 90
Gavin MacLeod, the actor who famously played Captain Merrill Stubing on the classic series The Love Boat, has sadly died at the age of 90.
TMZ reports that Gavin passed away in the middle of the night on early Saturday morning (May 29) at his home in Palm Desert, Calif.
Gavin‘s nephew says that he was surrounded by loved ones and caretakers when he died and that his death was not COVID-related. The outlet says he was “in and out of the hospital these last few months with varying illnesses — and it’s unclear what exactly might’ve caused his death in the end.”
Back in the 70s, Gavin shot to fame with his role as Murray Slaughter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and he started work on The Love Boat after that show ended.
We’re sending our thoughts and condolences to Gavin‘s loved ones during this difficult time.
