'Dance Moms' Star Zackery Torres Is Transitioning, Shares Life Update in New Video

Zackery Torres, who is best known for appearing on Dance Moms and Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, has come out as transgender.

The 22-year-old dancer posted a video on TikTok this weekend to share their life update.

Zackery made history back in the day by being the first male-born contestant on Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition.

“Hi everyone, it’s me Zackery Torres, and you may know me from Dance Moms,” she said. “I realized I haven’t posted on TikTok, anything of myself since like December, and life update, I’m transitioning!”

“That means I’m transgender if you didn’t know. My pronouns are they/she, which means that they or she are totally fine, and I’m just hopping on here to tell you that I’m going to be posting more on Tiktok and I’m excited about it!” Zackery added.

As stated, Zackery‘s preferred pronouns are they/she.

Zackery recently graduated from USC (University of Southern California) with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in dance, and she’s working towards her MA!

“BFA✔️ MA 1/2 ✔️ so excited to have finished my undergrad degree at USC and more excited to take on one more year to complete my MA! I am graduating with a special award ‘Order of Arête’ and Magna Cum Laude! I am so grateful to all of the people that have helped me get here! Much love💙,” she shared on Instagram earlier in May.
