Melissa Barrera Set to Star in New Netflix Survival Drama Series 'Breathe'

Melissa Barrera is taking on a new role.

The 30-year-old Vida actress will star as the lead in Netflix’s upcoming drama series Breathe, per Deadline.

According to the outlet, the show will follow a woman who is forced to battle the elements in order to survive when her plane crashes in the middle of the Canadian wilderness.

The protagonist, Eve, is “a razor-sharp Manhattan attorney who finds herself profoundly out of her comfort zone when her plane crashes and she must battle for survival.”

The series is helmed by Blindspot creator Martin Gero and writer-executive producer Brendan Gall, and is being produced with Warner Bros. Television.

Melissa‘s latest project is the highly anticipated movie musical In the Heights.

The movie is set to be released in theaters and on HBO Max on June 11 and you can watch the trailer here.
