'Younger' Creator Darren Star Talks Series Finale & Teases Possible Movie

Darren Star is sharing his thoughts on the finale of Younger!

The final episode of the show was released on Paramount+ on Thursday (June 10) and Darren discussed the end of the series as well as whether or not a Younger movie could be in the works in an interview with Deadline.

Darren said that while he didn’t envision making a reboot of Younger down the road, he was interested in revisiting the series in some capacity.

“I don’t know about rebooting the entire series, but could we come back for a movie at some point, that would be a lot of fun, down the line, to think about,” he shared.

Darren also added that the writers room struggled with how to finish up the series.

“Oh, everything,” he replied when asked about what was hard about writing the final season. “Everything is hard to crack. We had a long time to write it, and we had to make a lot of changes in the storyline because some actors weren’t available along the way.”

He continued, “But ultimately, I feel like we kind of were able to see a lot of ideas through that we’d sort of initially thought about when we started writing this last season, before the pandemic hit, and then we cut, and then we picked up this season writing them on Zoom, which was a new experience for everybody. So, it was challenging, but you know, it was also great to be working through all this.”
