Chrissy Teigen‘s team has revealed some inconsistencies in the DM screenshots shared by Michael Costello, which seemingly proves that they are fake.

Earlier this week, the fashion designer spoke out with claims that Chrissy tried to blacklist him from the fashion community back in 2014. Michael alleged that Chrissy saw fake screenshots of racist messages that were attributed to him even though he says he never wrote those things.

Now, Michael is the one being accused of spreading around fake screenshots. The screenshots appear to show him trying to explain the situation to Chrissy.

A representative for Chrissy‘s team told Business Insider that the alleged DMs from her, which he posted to his Instagram page, are “fake.”

Business Insider pointed out that the inconsistencies in these screenshots and they appear to have an amalgamation of various Instagram features from throughout the years.

Chrissy has been verified on Instagram since 2014, but the screenshots don’t show the blue checkmark, which would suggest the screenshots were taken before then.

The screenshots also show purple and blue messages, which is a feature that wasn’t implemented until 2020.

Also, the screenshots have the video chat icon, which was added to the app back in 2018.

Chrissy‘s profile photo in the screenshots is one that she had changed no later than 2016, according to the article.

All of these inconsistencies make it appear that the screenshots were doctored.
