Gnome and Juliet

According to Variety, Kate Winslet will lend her voice talent to CG-animated feature Gnomeo and Juliet (Miramax Films). Being pushed by performer Elton John, Gnomeo and Juliet is a twist on Shakespeare’s classic that’s set in the world of tacky garden gnomes. People familiar with the project said it has a Monty Python sensibility and presumably the move to a specialty label will afford it an edgier, hipper tone.  No release date has been set yet. Above is Kate Winslet, 30, and producer husband Sam Mendes, 40, with their napping 2-year-old son Joe Mendes.  (Kate and Joe celebrate  their third wedding anniversary next Wednesday, May 24th.)  School was in session for daughter Mia Threapleton, 5.
