Amy Schumer has taken to Instagram to respond to haters who criticized her for her casting in the Barbie movie and fat-shamed her on social media.
The 35-year-old actress and comedian, who just scored two Grammy nominations, says that she doesn’t think she has been fat-shamed though as she doesn’t consider herself to be fat and she is not ashamed of anything that she does.
Amy is set to play a version of Barbie in an upcoming live-action movie and if you read the plot, you’ll know that her humor is perfect for the role.
“Very very honored to be nominated for 2 Grammys and to be considered to play an important and evolving icon. Is it fat shaming if you know you’re not fat and have zero shame in your game? I don’t think so,” Amy wrote.
“I am strong and proud of how I live my life and say what I mean and fight for what I believe in and I have a blast doing it with the people I love. Where’s the shame? It’s not there. It’s an illusion,” she added.

Singer Naomi Judd is opening up about her battle with suicidal depression.
“Nobody can understand it unless you’ve been there,” Naomi, 70, told People. “Think of your very worst day of your whole life – someone passed away, you lost your job, you found out you were being betrayed, that your child had a rare disease – you can take all of those at once and put them together and that’s what depression feels like.”
“I literally couldn’t leave the house for weeks. I was completely immobilized and every single second was like a day,” Naomi added. “It’s so beyond making sense but I thought, ‘Surely my family will know that I was in so much pain and I thought they would have wanted me to end that pain [through suicide].’”
Naomi was the victim of sexual abuse when she was a young girl, at the hands of a relative.
