Justin Timberlake flew to Tennessee to vote early in the presidential election and snapped a selfie while casting his ballot in this new photo posted to Instagram.
“Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!! No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th! Choose to have a voice! If you don’t, then we can’t HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE! #excerciseyourrighttovote,” the 35-year-old entertainer captioned the pic.
While voting, fans began to recognize Justin, including lucky fan Suzanne Jones who took a photo with him!
“As soon as he walked out, people started taking pictures and we could see that it was him,” Suzanne told a local newspaper. “I said, ‘I know you’ve done it a lot, but I’d appreciate a picture with you.’ Someone was going to take it for me. But he said, ‘No, I can take it. I do have gorilla arms, since I do this a lot.’”
Other fans began to take notice that in some states, taking selfies while voting is illegal!
Last year, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam signed a bill saying that voters could use phones in the booth for “informational purposes to assist the voter in making election decisions,” but taking pictures is not allowed.
