Amy Adams Opens Up About Fighting Her Own Fight as an Actress

Amy Adams Opens Up About Fighting Her Own Fight as an Actress

Amy Adams is on the cover of T‘s 2017 Greats issue, out on newsstands on Sunday (October 22).

Here’s what the 43-year-old actress had to say:

On the Sony hack that revealed she and Jennifer Lawrence were being paid less than their male co-stars: “I don’t want to talk about my own experience because I fight my own fight and I feel comfortable doing that. There’s not a lot of empathy out there for celebrities…I spent a lot more time educating myself about what women executives get paid.”

On her early days in Hollywood and doubting herself: “I would go into auditions and it would be me and three model versions of me and I would never get the job…I always thought it’s an ‘it’ factor and I just don’t have ‘it.’”

On mentoring younger actresses: “It’s important to talk about inequality. But for me, where I feel most empowered is in educating myself and being, hopefully, a mentor for younger women. That’s more important. I offer any young actress I work with my phone number. I’ll tell them on set, ‘You don’t have to do that. You can say no.’”

Harvey Weinstein is supposedly telling people that he had a phone call with Oprah Winfrey in which she offered her support to him, but her team is telling a different story. While she didn't have direct communication with the disgraced producer, someone from her team did speak with his camp. Find out what was discussed...

Bob Weinstein, Harvey's Brother, Accused of Sexual Harassment by 'The Mist' Showrunner

UPDATE: You can read Bob‘s response to these allegations here.

Bob Weinstein, brother of Harvey Weinstein, is now facing allegations of sexual harassment.

Amanda Segel, an executive producer on The Mist, accused Bob of harassment during the production of the show.

Amanda said that Bob made multiple attempts to invite her out on private dinners since the summer of 2016 until her lawyer informed The Weinstein Company’s executives, including COO David Glasser, that she would leave the show if he didn’t stop personally contacting her.

“‘No’ should be enough. After ‘no,’ anybody who has asked you out should just move on. Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn’t want a friendship. He wanted more than that. My hope is that ‘no’ is enough from now on,” she told Variety.

According to Amanda, she allegedly agreed to a dinner that was filled with “highly intimate questions,” during which Bob asked if she would drive him back to the hotel. When she did, he asked her to come up to the room, which she declined.

He also reportedly continued asking her out to dinner, “joking at times that he was her boss and could fire her if she didn’t agree.”

A representative for Bob issued a response to the account: “Bob Weinstein had dinner with Ms. Segel in LA in June 2016. He denies any claims that he behaved inappropriately at or after the dinner. It is most unfortunate that any such claim has been made.”

A rep for The Weinstein Company also denied that David was contacted by her lawyer.

Harvey Weinstein Resigns From Weinstein Company After Firing

Harvey Weinstein Resigns From Weinstein Company After Firing

Last week, Harvey Weinstein was fired from his company, The Weinstein Company, after multiple allegations spanning decades of sexual misconduct came to light. Today, he officially resigned from the board.

TMZ reports that after he was fired last week, there was a five day cooling off period written into his contract. After five days (today), the board met to ratify the firing. Once the board ratified his firing, Weinstein was forced to resign. If he refused to resign, he would have been removed anyway.

It’s unclear if he will take legal action over the firing in the days and weeks to come.

Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Her Fourth Studio Album!

Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Her Fourth Studio Album!

Nicki Minaj is on the cover of T‘s 2017 Greats issue, out on newsstands on Sunday (October 22).

Here’s what the 34-year-old rapper had to say:

On her forthcoming fourth studio album: “Sonically, I know what the album’s about to sound like. I know what this album is gonna mean to my fans. This album is everything in my life coming full circle and me being truly, genuinely happy. It feels almost like a celebration. The last album, The Pink Print, was almost like my diary, closing the chapter on certain things and not knowing if I was happy or sad about beginning new chapters. I was really writing about feeling unsure. Now, I can tell you guys what happened for the last two years of my life. I know who I am. I am getting Nicki Minaj figured out with this album and I’m loving her.”

On self-doubt: “Sometimes I wake up and say, ‘I don’t know if I can do this anymore,’ you know? I’ve had those times. I’ve had those years where I’m just like, ‘Am I good enough?’”

On overcoming double standards as a female rapper: “I had so much going against me in the beginning: being black, being a woman, being a female rapper. No matter how many times I get on a track with everyone’s favorite M.C. and hold my own, the culture never seems to want to give me my props as an M.C., as a lyricist, as a writer. I got to prove myself a hundred times, whereas the guys that came in around the same time as I did, they were given the titles so much quicker without anybody second-guessing.”
