Rihanna suits up on the white carpet at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 22) in Las Vegas, Nev.

The 23-year-old pop phenom leads the nominations this year with 18!

Rihanna is up for such awards as Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Album for Loud, Top R&B Song for “What’s My Name?”, and Top Hot 100 Song for “Love The Way You Lie.”

Rihanna started off the show with a performance of “S&M” featuring a surprise appearance by Britney Spears!

Taylor Swift glams up the red carpet at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 22) in Las Vegas, Nev.

The 21-year-old country artist wore an Elie Saab blush toned beaded strapless gown with bronze embellished accents.

Taylor is up for seven awards during tonight’s ceremony. Her nominations include: Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Country Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album for Speak Now, and Top Country Song for “Mine.”

Mary J. Blige and Kelly Rowland add some color to the white carpet at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 22) in Las Vegas, Nev.

Mary will be joining Lil Wayne on stage to perform her new song “Someone to Love Me” on the big stage. The song is off her forthcoming album My Life II: The Journey Continues, which drops later this year.

Kelly‘s former Destiny’s Child co-member Beyonce is being honored with the Billboard Millennium Award for her career achievements.

Fergie hits the white carpet at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 22) in Las Vegas, Nev.

The 36-year-old singer, who wore Herve Leger, received Billboard‘s Woman of the Year award late last year at a ceremony in New York City.

The Black Eyed Peas are nominated for Top Duo or Group at tonight’s ceremony. They are up against Bon Jovi, Lady Antebellum, U2, and Linkin Park.

Other awards that the group is up for include Top Pop Artist, Top Dance Artist, and Top Pop Album.
