Bradley Cooper looks elated to help honor his colleague Clint Eastwood while posing backstage at the 2015 National Board of Review Awards Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday (January 6) in New York City.

The 40-year-old actor presented the Best Director award to Clint for their movie American Sniper.

The film is currently breaking records in limited release and when it opens across the country on January 16, it is expected to have a blockbuster debut. Amazing!

American Sniper is currently on pace to open with $35 million, according to pre-release tracking (via The Wrap).

Jack O’Connell suits up while attending the 2015 National Board of Review Awards Gala on Tuesday night (January 6) at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

The 24-year-old actor took home the Breakthrough Performance award for his work in the films Unbroken and Starred Up.

Also in attendance was another one of the year’s breakout performers, Katherine Waterston. She was there to support her movie Inherent Vice, which was chosen as one of the year’s Top 10 Films in addition to the Best Adapted Screenplay.

David Oyelowo hits the carpet while attending the 2015 National Board of Review Awards Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday (January 6) in New York City.

The 38-year-old English actor was in attendance to support his movie Selma, which won the NBR Freedom of Expression Award.

Also attending the event were David‘s Selma co-star Common and director Ava DuVernay, as well as Top Five‘s Chris Rock.

David recently opened up about his need to star in the critically acclaimed film.

“When I first read the script in 2007, I wouldn’t cast me as Dr. King, between being English and at that point I’ve done very few American movies, but I felt a call of God to do this thing,” he said.

The A Most Violent Year actress was joined at the event by her co-star Oscar Isaac and director JC Chandor.

Jessica won the award for Best Supporting Actress while Oscar tied for Best Actor. The movie was also named Best Film!

Oscar was seen catching up with his Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams at the event, as well as his pal Zachary Quinto.

Julianne Moore mixes floral and lace while attending the 2015 National Board of Review Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday (January 6) in New York City

The 54-year-old actress was honored with the Best Actress award for her work on Still Alice, which was also considered one of top 10 independent films of the year at the gala.

The day before, Julianne made an appearance on Today, where she promoted Still Alice, which hits theaters nationwide on Friday, January 16.

“It forces you to examine how much time you have, how you want to spend it,” Julianne shared on the show about her character’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Watch the video below!

The National Board of Review has just released its winners list for the films of 2014!

A Most Violent Year got lots of recognition – it won Best Film, Best Supporting Actress for Jessica Chastain, and Best Actor for Oscar Isaac (and a tie with Michael Keaton for Birdman)!

Other films and talent recognized were Birdman, Julianne Moore for Still Alice, American Sniper, Jack O’Connell for Unbroken, and more!

Often times, the earlier awards given out to movies can be clues as to who will get nominated and win Oscars in the upcoming award season. Exciting!
