“I don’t know what to do,” Stephen added. “But I do know that despair is a victory for hate. Hate wants us to be too weak to change anything. Now these people in Orlando were apparently targeted for who they love. And there have been outpourings of love throughout the country and around the world. Love in response to hate. Love does not despair. Love makes you strong. Love gives us the courage to act. Love gives up hope that change is possible. Love allows us to change the script.”

Samantha Bee Gives Furious Response to Orlando Shooting

Samantha Bee opened her Monday night episode of Full Frontal with her furious response to the Orlando shooting.

“After a massacre, the standard operating procedure is you stand on stage and deliver some well-meaning words about how we will get through this together, how love wins, how love conquers hate,” the talk show host opened up her monologue. “That is great, that is beautiful, but you know what? F”k it. I am too angry for that. Love does not win unless we start loving each other enough to start fixing our f”king problems.”

In the seven and a half minute speech, Samantha pointed out how the government can put someone on the no-fly list if there are suspicions, but they can’t stop those people from buying guns. She also called out Florida governor Rick Scott for telling the country that the best thing they can do right now is just to pray.

Also in attendance at the event were actors Dave Annable and Joe Mantegna.

Kerry opened up to Extra at the fundraiser about the Orlando shooting.

“It’s so devastating what happened in Orlando, and I just wonder what it’s going to take for us to create some real reform around gun control in this country,” Kerry said. “My heart just goes out to the LGBT community, it’s not okay for there to be such acts of hate, it’s inexcusable… It’s also scary to me that you can put somebody on a no-fly list, but that same person can walk into a store and buy a gun.”
