'Spring Awakening' Cast Reunites for Tony Awards 2016 Performance (Video)

Austin McKenzie, Sandra Mae Frank, and Katie Boeck lead the cast of Spring Awakening in their performance at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The Deaf West production of the show was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical, but it lost to The Color Purple.

Marlee Matlin, who starred in the show, introduced the performance, which also included cast members Krysta Rodriguez, Andy Mientus, Kathryn Gallagher, and others.

Michael Arden, who is married to Andy, was nominated for Best Director of a Musical.

FYI: Marlee is wearing a Jovani gown.

Sara Bareilles Joins Jessie Mueller for 'Waitress' Tony Awards Performance (Video)

Sara Bareilles joins the cast of the Broadway musical Waitress for a performance at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The 36-year-old singer wrote the music and lyrics for the new musical and she joined star Jessie Mueller to sing the show’s signature song “She Used to Be Mine.”

The full cast of the musical began the performance with the show’s opening number “Opening Up.” Sadly, the show didn’t pick up any awards during the ceremony.

Tony Awards 2016 - Complete Winners List

It was a great night of celebrating the best of Broadway at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The big winner of the night was unsurprisingly the smash hit musical Hamilton, which took home 11 awards including Best Musical.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and star of the musical, took home the awards for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score for writing the show’s script and music.

Other big winners included Hamilton‘s Leslie Odom Jr. and The Color Purple‘s Cynthia Erivo. It was a diverse night with all four musical acting winners being black actors.

'Hamilton' Wins Best Musical at Tony Awards 2016!

The smash hit Broadway musical Hamilton has won Best Musical at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

Lin-Manuel Miranda stars in the show that he also wrote, and the show has been notoriously hard to get tickets for since it opened last July.

Hamilton was up against a bunch of other great shows including Shuffle Along, Waitress, School of Rock – The Musical, and Bright Star.

Congrats to the cast and crew of Hamilton on the win!

'Hamilton' Tony Awards Performance Gets Obama Intro! (Video)

Lin-Manuel Miranda is front and center during Hamilton’s highly anticipated performance at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The 36-year-old actor has won two awards already for his work on the smash hit show – Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. He was also nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, but lost to his co-star Leslie Odom Jr.

Lin was joined on stage by co-stars like Leslie, Christopher Jackson, Phillipa Soo, Daveed Diggs, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and more.

The performance was introduced by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, who have both seen the musical and have invited the cast to the White House in the past. Watch below!

Uzo Aduba brings her star power to the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

Also in attendance at the event were nominee Megan Hilty, as well as Two Broke GirlsBeth Behrs.

Gloria Estefan & Broadway's 'On Your Feet' Cast Perform at Tony Awards 2016 (Video)

Gloria Estefan takes her bow after performing on stage at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The legendary performer performed with the cast of the Broadway musical On Your Feet, which is based on the lives of herself and hubby Emilio Estefan.
