Carmelo Anthony Sends La La Sweet Birthday Message Following Their Split

Carmelo and La La Anthony may no longer be together, but they will “always” be a family!

Despite splitting up after almost seven years of marriage back in April, the 32-year-old professional NBA player made sure to send La La some “love” on her 38th birthday (June 26).

“I look at you on this birthday, and it is hard to believe another year has passed,” Carmelo captioned with his Instagram post. “You are as beautiful now as ever before!!! Sending Birthday wishes to MY EARTH 🌏 @lala Love YOU #AVeryPOWERFulDay6/25.”

La La celebrated her birthday by taking her 10-year-old son Kiyan Anthony as her date to the 2017 BET Awards at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

“We’re always a family, no matter what,” La La expressed when an ET reporter asked her about her current relationship with Carmelo at the award ceremony.

Remy Ma Dethrones Nicki Minaj As Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at BET Awards 2017

Remy Ma just broke Nicki Minaj‘s winning streak for best female hip-hop artist at the BET Awards!

The 37-year-old rapper took home the coveted award during the ceremony on Sunday (June 25) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Nicki, who has had feuded with Remy in the past, has held the title for the last seven years in a row.

Some fans are speculating that Remy even dissed Nicki during her acceptance speech when she quoted her diss track “SHEther.”

After the show, Remy took to her Twitter to say thank you.

“Thank you BET! Y’all just made so many people happy😜,” Remy wrote.

DJ Khaled brought out all the stops for his 2017 BET Awards performance!

The 41-year-old entertainer took to the stage for a performance of his hit “I’m The One” during the award show on Sunday night (June 25) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Khaled was joined by his collaborators on the song including Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne.

Unfortunately, Justin Bieber wasn’t able to make the performance but that didn’t stop the group from putting on a super fun performance!

Khaled even brought out his adorable son Asahd for a cameo!

It was a great night honoring the best of black culture at the 2017 BET Awards on Sunday (June 25) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Beyonce was one of the big winners of the night, though she wasn’t able to make it to the show as she just gave birth to twins, so she had someone else read her speech for her!

Chance the Rapper won the award for Best New Artist and he also gave an inspiring speech while accepting the Humanitarian Award. He is now the youngest person to receive the honor in BET history.

Michelle Obama Honors Chance the Rapper During Surprise BET Awards Cameo

Chance the Rapper got a huge surprise during the BET Awards!

The 24-year-old rapper was honored with the Humanitarian Award, which was presented by a surprise guest – Michelle Obama!

The former First Lady wanted to personally thank Chance for his philanthropic efforts in their hometown of Chicago.

Barack and I are so sorry that we can’t be there tonight in person,” Michelle said in a pre-recorded video.

She added, “With these passionate efforts, Chance is showing our young people that they matter, that they have something inside them that is worthy of being expressed and that they have so much to contribute to their communities and to our country…I am thrilled to celebrate you here tonight, and honored to call you my friend.”

Beyonce's Acceptance Speech Delivered by Chloe & Halle at BET Awards 2017

Beyonce wasn’t able to make it to the 2017 BET Awards on Sunday (June 25) as she gave birth to her twins just a couple weeks ago, so she had her proteges Chloe & Halle accept her award on her behalf!

The young sisters read a letter that Bey wrote to say thank you for the Viewer’s Choice Award.

“Thank you BET for this award and your tremendous support of Lemonade. This has been a journey of love, of celebrating our culture, honoring the past, and approaching the present and future with hope and resolve,” Bey said in the letter.

“Thank you to my mother Tina Knowles-Lawson for being my biggest, biggest teacher and consistent influence,” she added. “Thank you to my entire family for so much love. To my team at Parkwood, thank you. And thanks to all the fans, my Beyhive, for riding with me. I love and appreciate you. And to everyone at the show tonight, you all look so beautiful. And at home, thank you, and have a wonderful, wonderful night. From, Beyonce.”

Bey‘s younger sister Solange Knowles also won an award at the show that evening!

Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith & the 'Girls Trip' Cast Step Out at BET Awards 2017

Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith brought Girls Trip to the 2017 BET Awards!

The duo hit the red carpet before the show on Sunday evening (June 25) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

They were also joined by their co-stars Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish.

Other attendees included Garcelle Beauvais, Yvette Nicole Brown and Draya Michele.

Queen, Regina, and Tiffany all wore Planned Parenthood pins to support the important cause.
