Sarah Paulson, Kristen Wiig, and Salma Hayek walk the carpet at the 2017 Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood.

The event marks the kick off of awards season and anyone vying for an Oscar next year stepped out on the carpet.

Sarah is starring in the upcoming film The Post while Kristen is in Downsizing and Salma‘s film Beatriz at Dinner was released this past summer.

More stars on the carpet included Three Billboards‘ Abbie Cornish, Wonder Wheel‘s Juno Temple, Lady Bird‘s Laurie Metcalf, and past Oscar winner Whoopi Golberg.

Bad-ass female directors Patty Jenkins, Ava DuVernay, Dee Rees, Sofia Coppola, and Kimberly Peirce were all there as well!

Donald Sutherland makes a speech on stage at the 2017 Governors Awards held at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood.

The 82-year-old actor was awarded a lifetime achievement Oscar at the academy’s annual award show. Congrats to the actor on the amazing honor!

Also in attendance at the event were Gary Oldman, Michael Shannon, Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Fishburne, Richard Gere, Bob Odenkirk, Bradley Whitford, Bruce Greenwood, Steven Spielberg, Ben Mendelsohn, Richard Jenkins, and Sam Elliott.

Tessa Thompson and Chadwick Boseman speak together on stage at the 2017 Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood.

Tessa stars in the new Marvel movie Thor: Ragnarok while Chadwick will lead the upcoming flick Black Panther.

Also in attendance were the casts of Detroit – John Boyega, Anthony Mackie, Will Poulter, and Algee Smith – and Get Out – Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, and Betty Gabriel.

Anthony, who also is a Marvel star, hung out with Three Billboards actor Sam Rockwell on the red carpet. Daniel will be seen in Black Panther alongside Chadwick!

Margot was joined by her I, Tonya co-star Allison Janney. They are both getting Oscar buzz for the film!

Carey, Garrett Hedlund, and Mary J. Blige represented the upcoming Netflix movie Mudbound and Michelle was joined by young Wonderstruck co-star Millicent Simmonds.

The Florida Project‘s Willem Dafoe and Brooklynn Prince were both at the event, as was Downsizing‘s Hong Chau.

Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield, and Jamie Bell all look dapper on the red carpet at the 2017 Governors Awards held at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood.

The guys all have something in common – they are all Brits. They also are all in awards-worthy movies this year – Robert in Good Time, Andrew in Breathe, and Jamie in Film Star Don’t Die in Liverpool.

The 42-year-old First They Killed My Father director dazzled in a beige dress adorned with silver and gold sequins at the event hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood.

She completed her look with a diamond necklace and a pop of red lipstick.

Angelina presented the Honorary Award to director Agnes Varda.

Last weekend, Angelina stunned in silver at the 2017 Hollywood Film Awards, where she and author Loung Ung received the Hollywood Foreign Language Film Award for their movie First They Killed My Father.
