Kelly Clarkson wows the crowd while performing a medley of songs at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

The 36-year-old singer, who is hosting the event, sang a bunch of the top songs of the past year!

Kelly sang Maren Morris‘ “My Church,” Sam Smith‘s “Too Good at Goodbyes,” Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble,” Khalid‘s “Young Dumb Broke,” Bruno Mars‘ “Finesse,” Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You,” Shawn Mendes‘ “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back,” and Taylor Swift‘s “Look What You Made me Do.”

At the top of the show, Kelly gave a passionate plea for gun control instead of doing a moment of silence following the Santa Fe school shooting.

Dua Lipa takes the stage at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

The 22-year-old entertainer performed her smash hit song “New Rules” for the screaming crowd at the live awards show, airing right now on NBC!

During her performance, Dua Lipa and her dancers performed a really fun dance routine, which all centered around a large flamingo.

Alison Brie hits the red carpet looking super chic at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

The 35-year-old GLOW actress went glam in a black lace top and white skirt for the awards show.

Joining Alison at the awards show was Darren Criss – who showed off his fully grown beard while rocking a black tux with electric blue detailing.

Ariana Grande belts out her new song “No Tears Left to Cry” to open the show at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

The 24-year-old singer started the performance by laying on a bed of umbrellas.

Ariana is nominated for one award tonight – Top Social Artist. She is up against BTS, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, and Shawn Mendes. We bet she’ll be nominated for a lot more awards next year!

FYI: Ariana is wearing a Christian Siriano dress and Casadei boots.

Rebel Wilson takes the stage to present an award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

Though Rebel was not actually in attendance at the Royal Wedding, she did joke that she was there and spoke about all the inappropriate things she would have said at the event!

“Guys, I’ve come straight from the Royal Wedding. The reception was outta control. I may have done a few inappropriate things. Like, I went up to The Queen and I said, ‘Maybe like when you move on, maybe just give the crown to Beyonce?’” Rebel said, adding “Bey-kingham Palace.”

She also said she went up to Prince Harry and asked if she could show him her “pink bits!”

“Wedding was a top night, but I think tonight could top that!” Rebel added.

Rebel presented the award to Top New Artist, which went to Khalid.

The 33-year-old singer rocked a super chic black lace dress while the 29-year-old actor looked handsome in a sparkling black sweater and black jeans.

Kelly Clarkson opens the show with an emotional tribute to the victims of the Santa Fe shooting at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

The 36-year-old singer and the night’s host was asked to do a moment of silence at the top of the show, but she decided to do something different.

“Tonight, they wanted me to say that obviously we pray for all of the victims, we pray for their families, but they also wanted me to do a moment of silence. And I’m so sick of moments of silence. It’s not working, like obviously,” Kelly said. “So why don’t we not do a moment of silence. Why don’t we do a moment of action, why don’t we do a moment of change, why don’t we change what’s happening, because it’s horrible.”

“Mamas and daddies should be able to send their kids to school, to church, to movie theaters, to clubs. You should be able to live your life without that kind of fear. So we need to do better because people are failing our children. We’re failing our communities, we’re failing our families,” she said.

Kelly concluded, “So instead of a moment of silence, I went to respect them and honor them with tonight… let’s have a moment of action. Let’s have a moment of change.”
