Celebrities Praise Halsey's Moving Women's March 2018 Speech

Halsey took the stage at the 2018 Women’s March on Saturday (January 20) in New York City.

The poem describes Halsey‘s terrifying experiences with sexual assault in her past.

“He’s taken to forcing me down on my knees / And I’m confused ’cause he’s hurting me while he says please / And he’s only a man, and these things he just needs / He’s my boyfriend, so why am I filled with unease?” Halsey read in her speech.

Celebrities have been taking to Twitter to praise Halsey for her bravery and her powerful words.

Scarlett Johansson Calls Out James Franco at Women's March

Scarlett Johansson called out James Franco during her speech at the 2018 Women’s March.

The 33-year-old actress was one of many in attendance at the march on Saturday morning (January 20) in Los Angeles.

During her speech, Scarlett said, “How could a person publicly stand by an organization that helps to provide support for victims of sexual assault while privately preying on people who have no power?” Scarlett then paused and said, “I want my pin back, by the way.”

Scarlett‘s rep has confirmed to Just Jared that she was referring to James Franco, who has been accused of sexual misconduct, despite wearing a Time’s Up pin at the Golden Globes.

Sophia Bush Joins Forces with Marisa Tomei & Connie Britton at Women's March 2018 in LA!

Sophia Bush buddies up with Marisa Tomei and Connie Britton at this afternoon’s 2018 Women’s March on Saturday (January 20) in Los Angeles.

The ladies were just a few of the actresses that hit the stage share empowering messages to the half of a million people in attendance!

Other women attending the march today included Sarah Hyland, Paris Jackson, Rachel Platten, Alfre Woodard, and Jurnee Smollett-Bell.

After her speech, Connie took to Instagram to share this powerful message: “Holding hearts over LA! And talking about upstanders…those who stand up and do something when they see injustice. Today’s Womens’ Marches around the country were filled with upstanders. And when you put a bunch of upstanders together…that’s a movement! Especially when it’s HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF THEM! And we’re going to upstand all the way to the voting booth!”

Jessica Chastain Brings the Women's March to 'SNL' for Her Opening Monologue! (Video)

Jessica Chastain leads Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong in song during her opening monologue on Saturday Night Live.

The two-time Oscar-nominated actress hosted the episode on Saturday (January 20) and because she wasn’t able to attend the Women’s March that day, she brought the march to the show.

“I wish I could have been there, marching alongside them,” she told the crowd.

Jessica and the ladies marched on stage while singing the song “You Don’t Own Me” and some of the audience members even wore pink pussy hats!

The choreography reminded us of the moment from the movie The First Wives Club.

Ashton Kutcher Joins Mila Kunis at LA Women's March 2018

Mila Kunis is joined by hubby Ashton Kutcher as they step out for the 2018 Women’s March on Saturday afternoon (January 20) in Los Angeles.

The married couple kept things cool and sporty in baseball hats and black jackets as they joined the crowds at the march.

Kathy Griffin Says She's 'Not Welcome' to Women's March 2018

Kathy Griffin is explaining why she’s skipping out on this year’s 2018 Women’s March.

The 57-year-old comedian took to Twitter on Saturday (January 20) to say that she is “not welcome” to attend second annual march.

“So, yeah, after all these months, I’m still not welcome at #WomensMarch2018 etc. (For now). But I support you!!!” Kathy tweeted.

Kathy didn’t go into detail as to why she isn’t the attending, but did she a black and white infamous photo holding a mask of Donald Trump‘s bloodied head – implying that photo might have something to do with the situation.

Natalie Portman, Viola Davis, and Scarlett Johansson speak to a crowd of half a million people at the 2018 Women’s March on Saturday morning (January 20) in Los Angeles.

Some of the other speakers included Elizabeth Banks, Lupita Nyong’o, and Adam Scott. Frozen‘s Idina Menzel performed “Defying Gravity” from her hit musical Wicked.

Among the celebs spotted marching included Nicole Richie, Olivia Munn, and former Desperate Housewives co-stars Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman.

“I am speaking today not just for the #MeToos, because I am a #MeToo. When I raise my hand it’s for all the women who are still in silence, the women who are faceless,” Viola said during her speech.

Scarlett was joined on stage by Mila Kunis, who held the microphone for her. Watch the video below!
