Michelle Obama Yelled at Barack Obama at Biden's Inauguration 2021 for This Reason!

Amanda Gorman is spilling some behind-the-scenes details about the 2021 Presidential Inauguration last week!

The 22-year-old poet, who became a huge star after speaking at President Biden‘s Inauguration, appeared for an interview on Ellen where she shared some details viewers didn’t see during the big event.

According to Amanda, former First Lady Michelle Obama was a little upset with former President Barack Obama for breaking COVID, safety protocols.

“I remember Michelle Obama, like, being close,” Amanda recalled. “And she kind of kept yelling at Barack, like, ‘Stop hugging people. Stop getting close to people.’”

Amanda continued, “And then when I was done, she kind of like pushed him out the way and gave me the just the biggest, warmest Michelle Obama hug.”

Amanda also revealed that the Inauguration wasn’t the first time she met Michelle.

“I have met Michelle a few times before,” Amanda shared. “Not Barack. And whenever I meet Michelle I hope that she forgets meeting me, because I just want a do-over. I just want a clean slate. Like, I just want to do it right this time. But she always remembers and she’s always great.”

Also during her interview with Ellen, Amanda shared her desire to run for President one day! Read more here.

Bernie Sanders Goes Viral for His Inauguration Look

Everyone is loving Bernie Sanders2021 presidential inauguration ceremony look.

The 79-year-old Vermont senator showed up to the Joe Biden inauguration in a casual ensemble on Wednesday (January 20) in Washington, D.C.

As opposed to the many fashionable suits and coats on the stage, Bernie wore a grey puffer jacket and carried a big manila envelope, paired with oversized pattern mittens. According to The Cut, the mittens were made by a teacher in Vermont who knows one of his kids, and are made from repurposed wool sweaters with fleece from recycled plastic bottles.

Pictures of the Senator quickly went viral on social media, with people (lovingly) comparing his comfy casual look to something one would wear to the post office or shoveling the driveway.

“This fit and energy is why I will always have a place in my heart for Bernie Sanders,” one popular tweet reads.

“Shout out to Bernie Sanders showing up to the inauguration as if he’s headed to the UPS store and picking up some coffee in Burlington,” wrote another.

“I wanna be Michelle Obama but I know I’m a Bernie Sanders,” said another user.

Garth Brooks Performs 'Amazing Grace' at 2021 Presidential Inauguration

Garth Brooks is celebrating Joe Biden‘s inauguration!

The 58-year old country music superstar performed a powerful acapella rendition of “Amazing Grace” during the 2021 Presidential Inauguration.

Garth asked the audience to join him in singing the song’s final lines. “I’m going to ask you to sing this verse with me,” he said. “Not only the people here but the people at home, those at work. As one, united.”

The message echoed his statement earlier this week when he announced he had been booked for the performance.

“In our household, this is not a political statement, this is a statement of unity,” Garth said during a virtual press conference. “This is kind of how I get to serve this country.”

“I’ve played for every president there is, since Carter, with the exception of Reagan. This is an honor for me to get to serve,” he added. “And it’s one of the things that, if my family is around, no matter who the president-elect is, it’s an honor to be asked.”

Garth had been asked to play at Donald Trump’s inauguration in 2017, but declined due to a prescheduled tour date.

“America has been tested anew, and America has risen to the challenge,” he said during the speech.

“Today, we celebrate the triumph not of a candidate, but of a cause, the cause of democracy. The people, the will of the people has been heard, and the will of the people has been heeded…at this hour, my friends, democracy has prevailed,” he continued.

“On this January Day my whole soul is in this, bringing America together,” he also said, paraphrasing Abraham Lincoln.

“Uniting our people. Uniting our nation. And I ask every American to join me in this cause…we must end this uncivil war that pits red against blue, rural versus urban, conservative versus liberal. We can do this if we open our souls instead of hardening our hearts. If we show a little tolerance and humility and if we’re willing to stand in the other person’s shoes,” he continued.
