Brian Austin Green is opening up about fatherhood.
The 50-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 alum admitted that raising his “out and gay and proud” son Kassius, 21, was initially a “challenge” on the latest episode of the Frosted Tips with Lance Bass podcast.
“It has been a challenge. Honestly, it was unknown for me,” he explained.

Brian Austin Green‘s ex Vanessa Marcil is speaking out about their previous relationship and his time estranged from their son Kassius, 18.
It started when she posted a photo of her and Brian from when she was pregnant with Kassius.
If you don’t know, in 2018, Vanessa said that Kassius had been “cut out” of Brian’s life and that he had no relationship with his half-brothers – Noah, Bodhi , and Journey – who Brian shares with estranged wife Megan Fox. They have since seemed to repair the relationship.
A fan commented that Vanessa still loves Brian. Vanessa responded, saying she never loved him.
“That was part of his anger towards me and so the reason why he fought me for so long knowing it would hurt our son & change our son forever,” she wrote. “I did however feel sorry for him. I still do. He’s a very angry/sad human being who still has too much shame to take full responsibility for his actions as a father. I consciously knew that I could work through childhood traumas through him and I have. I have great empathy towards him and other people who are still in pain from their childhoods.”
In a now-deleted post, Vanessa also praised Megan Fox, writing she has “respect for how @meganfox is finally living her life for herself & leaving her children out of her public life at this young age,” according to a screen grab by the Daily Mail. She was also asked if it was Megan‘s fault or Brian‘s fault that he did not see Kassius and she responded, “It’s a biological father’s responsibility to see his child.”
In another comment, Vanessa responded to a fan who asked if the reason he didn’t see his son was because of an accident that caused him to suffer from vertigo. Vanessa responded directly and you can read her response in the gallery of this post…
Brian Austin Green is enjoying a day out with his son!
The 46-year-old actor took to Instagram on Saturday (December 21) to share a photo of his son Kassius Marcil-Green posing in front of a stormtrooper after they watched the new Star Wars: The Rise of SKywalker.

“JJ, thank you for giving my son and I not only a really great experience, but delivering a finale to something that has been a huge part of our lives in what I felt was a really respectful way :)),” Brian captioned the below photo of his 17-year-old son.

Brian and Kassius‘ rare outing comes after Vanessa said that he had been “cut out” of Brian’s life and that he had no relationship with his half-brothers – Noah, 6, Bodhi, 5, and Journey, 2 – who Brian shares with wife Megan Fox.
Vanessa also claimed that Brian and Megan had tried to get full custody of Kassius back in 2006.
However, back in July, Kassius visited Brian on set of BH90210 – seemingly ending the rift within the family.

Brian Austin Green had a special guest visitor on set of Beverly Hills, 90210 – his son Kassius!
The 46-year-old actor’s co-star Shannen Doherty took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday afternoon (July 16) to share a picture of Brian‘s 17-year-old son on set of the upcoming revival.
Kassius‘ mom Vanessa Marcil reposted the photo on her own Instagram, adding the caption “@kassius_marcil_green visiting his dad in Canada. 😊🙏🏽.”
Kassius‘ visit comes a few months after Vanessa said that he had been “cut out” of Brian’s life and that he had no relationship with his half-brothers – Noah, 6, Bodhi, 5, and Journey, 2 – who Brian shares with wife Megan Fox.
Vanessa also claimed that Brian and Megan had tried to get full custody of Kassius back in 2006.
It looks like Brian Austin Green and Kassius have a much closer relationship now.

The 32-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday (November 1) to share a photo of her three kids all dressed up as they went trick-or-treating.

Megan also shared a photo of herself with husband Brian Austin Green as a hippie and his 16-year-old son Kassius wearing a black robe and wielding a sword.

Brian Austin Green runs shirtless through the water while vacationing at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya this past weekend in Mexico.
The 44-year-old actor was on vacation with his son Kassius, 15, and the pair enjoyed kayaking, zip-lining and tight-rope before hitting up the hotel’s restaurant Zen for some sushi and stir fry.
Brian and Kassius also hit up the RockSpa to get some massages together as they soaked up the final days of summer. So fun!
If you didn’t know, Kassius is Brian‘s son from his relationship with Vanessa Marcil. He is now married to Megan Fox and they have three sons: Noah, 4, Bodhi, 3, and Journey, 12 months.
