Director Neil Patrick Harris told Broadway World, “I’m thrilled with the cast. With this gang, I’m hoping to provide an eclectic mix of experienced Rent performers, amazing new talent, and recognizable faces in unexpected roles. Of paramount importance to me, though, is honoring the piece as a whole – the music, the vibe, the creator – so that those who have never experienced Rent will be able to appreciate it alongside die-hard fans. We’ll only have one week of rehearsal, which I like to call ‘madness’, but as of now my hopes are very high.”

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens look happier together than ever, holding hands as they grab lunch on Thursday afternoon (July 29) in Hollywood, Calif.

The cute couple was accompanied by Vanessa‘s Rent co-stars Skylar Astin (Mark) and Aaron Tveit (Roger). Van will play Mimi, Roger’s love interest, starting Friday (August 6) at Hollywood Bowl. The trio will be joined on stage by Wayne Brady (Collins) and Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger (Maureen).

And earlier today (July 30), Vanessa was seen heading to an L.A. studio carrying a salad and a Diet Coke.

Aaron Tevit has been cast as Nate’s very wealthy cousin Tripp Vanderbilt in Gossip Girl, reports TV Guide.

Holley Fain has also been cast as Tripp’s fiancée, Maureen. The posh pair will appear in two upcoming episodes, in which Nate (Chace Crawford) reconciles with his mother’s powerful family

Tveit has performed in the Broadway productions of Wicked and Hairspray and starred in the movie Ghost Town. Fain has made cameos on Lipstick Jungle and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
