Madonna hits arrives at the premiere of W.E. during the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on Monday (September 12) at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Canada.

The 53-year-old director (wearing a Tom Ford dress with Brian Atwood shoes, a Ferragamo bag, and Neil Lane jewelry) hit the red carpet with the film’s stars, Abbie Cornish and Andrea Riseborough.

THR recently asked Madonna is she might ever stop working or retire.

“I don’t know. I don’t have a crystal ball. I think I’ll always be productive, in one way or another, but I don’t know in which way,” she shared.

FYI: Abbie is wearing an ivory beaded gown by Elie Saab with Bulgari jewels and Roger Vivier‘s “Pilgrim” clutch and one toe epines. Andrea wore a Dolce&Gabbana dress.

Madonna and Abbie Cornish attend the 2011 Gucci Award For Women In Cinema held at Hotel Cipriani on Friday (September 2) in Venice, Italy.

The 53-year-old entertainer presented the award for outstanding artistic achievement to rising star Jessica Chastain.

Madonna was in town to premiere her film W.E., which stars Abbie in the lead role, at the Venice Film Festival the evening before.

FYI: Madonna is wearing a Gucci one of a kind 40′s inspired black georgette long sleeved evening gown with jet and gold metal detail at the waist and fully beaded skirt.

Abbie is wearing a Gucci one of a kind Cruise 2012 black and white matt satin gown with cutaway shoulder and embellished neckline detailing. She finished off her look with a clutch and sandals both by Roger Vivier.

Madonna strikes a pose at the premiere of her new film, W.E., on Thursday (September 1) at the Palazzo del Cinema in Venice, Italy.

The 53-year-old entertainer directed the flick, which stars Abbie Cornish, who wore an Atelier Versace gown and accessorized with Bulgari High Jewelry Collection, to the Venice Film Festival premiere.

“I see myself as a storyteller. Film has always informed the other areas of my work. I don’t think that being a filmmaker is such a big leap,” Madonna told the Associated Press. “I think all of my work before actually prepared me for the responsibility of filmmaking.”

On the intense action scenes in Sucker Punch:“The action is top-notch new s— you haven’t seen before. It’s insane. In. Sane.”

On filming sex scenes: “[My co-stars are] all mates, that’s the thing. So I’m lucky. With friends, if someone’s pants don’t come off properly, or if something gets stuck, you just end up giggling.”

On what she likes to do outside of work: “I’m into painting and street art and I’m a musician, I play piano. And I love taking pictures or filming things documentary style. And I’m definitely active, I love surfing.”

Abbie Cornish and Emily Browning head down under for the Australian premiere of their new movie, Sucker Punch, on Sunday (April 3) at Event Cinemas George Street in Sydney, Australia.

Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish take a flight out of LAX late Monday night (March 28) in Los Angeles.

The Sucker Punch costars landed at Heathrow airport in London the next morning, where they will prepare for the European press tour for the film.

Sucker Punch placed second at the weekend box office with a total of $19.1 million, behind the second installment of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
