Afroman Apologizes After Punching a Woman, Blames Anxiety for His Actions

Afroman is offering an apology after being recorded punching a woman on stage at his show in Biloxi, Mississippi on Tuesday evening (February 17).

“I wanna apologize for my actions,” the 40-year-old singer explained to TMZ, adding that he is enrolling in a program to help him deal with his anxiety, which he said was to blame for the attack.

“It was an early show. I usually play at night when I’ve had my dinner and I medicate, I get right, but it was an early show. It was Mardi Gras. I had to walk, like, half a mile to get to the place,” he added. Afroman also said he believed the woman was actually a man who had been yelling “obscenities” at him.

He also sent out a tweet after the incident.

Afroman was arrested on Tuesday night (February 17) after punching a woman on stage at his show in Biloxi, Miss.

The 40-year-old “Because I Got High” singer was playing his guitar when the woman started dancing behind him. Without hesitation, Afroman swung his fist around, hitting her and knocking her to the ground.

According to TMZ, she was bleeding and crying, but managed to get up on her own. Afroman was eventually escorted off stage by cops, who arrested him outside for assault.
