American Idol has provided a platform for so much talent, from Kelly Clarkson to Carrie Underwood to Jennifer Hudson – but that doesn’t mean they always get it right.

Over the years, music superstars from all different genres have spoken out to confirm that their American Idol dreams were dashed with a rejection from producers at some point in the audition process. And some of the names are pretty surprising!

Alex Kinsey just dropped his new EP Party of One, and we’re giving Just Jared readers an opportunity to get to know him better!

The 27-year-old singer-songwriter first rose to fame as one-half of Alex & Sierra from X Factor USA in 2013. After their split, he went on to form the band BoTalks, and dropped a single with Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland. Now, he’s stepping out on his own with his first solo EP as Kinsey!

The lead single from the EP is called “Hot Mess.” He’ll also be hosting an EP release show at the Hotel Cafe on June 6. Click here for ticket information!

BoTalks is back with a brand new single called “F–k It,” which you can listen to right here!

The duo – made up of X Factor winner Alex Kinsey, formerly of Alex & Sierra, and Swedish singer-songwriter and producer Johan Lindbrant – dropped their new track on Thursday (March 8).

The song follows the release of their debut single “Know U Anymore,” which features vocals by Sarah Hyland.

“F–k It” features Caroline Pennell, and is about letting love slip through your fingers – but still embracing the feelings.

“Our songwriting process is fluid, but usually starts with Alex tinkering around with melodies on guitar and piano and Johan zero-ing in on what to use as the base of the song. At the end of the day, our approach is about having fun and translating that enthusiasm into every song and live performance,” the duo says.

Ariana Grande looks like a winter wonderland while performing on stage for the taping of the 2014 Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration on Tuesday (December 9) at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The 21-year-old entertainer was joined by football player Tim Tebow and X Factor winners Alex & Sierra for the special, which will air nationwide on December 25 @ 10AM on ABC!

The boyfriend-girlfriend singing duo, who were the first and only group to win the U.S version of The X Factor, debuted the Jay Martin-directed visual in celebration of the release of their debut album It’s About Us.

“OUR FIRST ALBUM IS OUT! (well… for some of you),” Alex and Sierra wrote on their Twitter account. “If it isn’t downloading, it will at midnight! AH!”

It’s About Us, featuring the single “Scarecrow,” is available in stores and on iTunes now!
