Amber Riley is set to star as Effie in the upcoming production of Dreamgirls in London and she’s giving fans a sneak peek at her role!

The 30-year-old actress took to her Twitter to share a stunning performance of “I Am Changing” as well as some of her thoughts about joining the cast.

“I think the thing that excites me about Effie and this role is that it’s challenging – vocally, emotionally,” she explained.

Amber added, Even though she’s young in the beginning, she has this full arch and a full evolution that happens and I haven’t been able to experience that.”

The stars will be joined by a great lineup of entertainers for the annual Fourth of July special, which will conclude with a fireworks display.

Tom Bergeron will be hosting the special, airing on PBS at 8/7c tonight (July 4).

“I love performing in DC. I’ve been here several times with the Kennedy Center Honors; I’ve performed with the National Symphony [Orchestra], and then with Baltimore Symphony… to be able to be here for the Fourth of July, I thought it would be awesome,” Sutton told the Huffington Post.

After the event, Jordin called out the audience for being disrespectful by using their phones throughout performances.

“It’s so frustrating when ppl have no respect 4 artists/audience members when they are on their phone during performances… on full brightness & then try 2 take pics with a flash. Come on now, we know how this works, we’ve had these smart phones for yrs now,” Jordin tweeted. “Don’t be rude. Have some respect 4 the performer up on the stage & the audience members actually trying 2 watch & pay attn or don’t come!”

The 46-year-old entertainer was joined at the event by her co-stars Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Shanice Williams, David Alan Grier, Amber Riley, Elijah Kelley, executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, director Kenny Leon, and moderator Holly Robinson Peete.

The panel, which was presented for Emmy voters and fans, also included live musical performances from the cast members.

“From the very start of her career on Broadway, she has followed her passions, chased her dreams and never let a ‘no’ get in her way,” the 46-year-old Grey’s Anatomy star expressed before presenting Debbie Allen with the Trailblazer Icon Award.

The Icon Awards also honored Ryan Murphy and FX’s hit The People v. O.J. Simpson and The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons, who was voted favorite iconic TV character by fans.

Kit Harington couples up with girlfriend Rose Leslie for the first time while attending the 2016 Olivier Awards held at The Royal Opera House on Sunday (April 3) in London, England.

The Game of Thrones duo was joined by Luke Evans, Tom Sturridge, Uzo Aduba, Amber Riley, Alfred Enoch, Laura Carmichael, Luke Treadaway, and Judi Dench.

In case you didn’t know, the Olivier Awards are an annual event presented by the Society of London Theatre to honor excellence in theater.
