Harry Connick Jr. Performs with Talented Young Girl at 'American Idol' Finale (Video)

Harry Connick Jr. sings on stage during the American Idol series finale on Thursday (April 7) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The 48-year-old entertainer was joined by talented young singer Marley Fletcher for a performance of “What a Wonderful World” as a tribute to the amazing charity work Idol has done over the years.

“I’m singing it with somebody and all I can say is regardless of my performance I can tell you in advance it is going to be very special,” Harry teased to Billboard the day before. It sure was a special moment!

Jessica Sanchez Shows Off Powerhouse Vocals on 'Idol' Finale

Jessica Sanchez belts out an amazing rendition of “The Prayer” during American Idol‘s series finale on Thursday (April 7).

The 20-year-old season 11 runner-up was joined by prior contestants for a medley of songs, which was opened by Katharine McPhee and Casey James singing Lady Antebellum‘s “Need You Now”.

Other performers, who Harry Connick Jr. called “some of the best singers American Idol has discovered,” included Carly Smithson, Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard and Amber Holcomb.

Ryan Seacrest Says Goodbye 'For Now' on 'American Idol' Finale (Video)

Ryan Seacrest might have left the most-talked about moment from the American Idol finale for the last second!

The 41-year-old host signed off from the show by saying goodbye “for now” as the screen faded to black.

“The real reason our lives have changed forever is you at home. We know that. We appreciate that. And one more time, this is so tough, we say to you from Hollywood, good night America… for now,” he said while closing the show.

It has been said all year that this is just the “farewell season” of American Idol and the show’s series creator Simon Fuller said the other day that it will “for sure” be coming back someday in another form. We will just have to wait and see!

Who Won 'American Idol' 2016? Final Winner Revealed!

SPOILER ALERT – Do not continue if you don’t want to know who won American Idol‘s final season!

The results are in and we know who won season fifteen of American Idol, the farewell season of the smash hit singing competition series.

The final two contestants this year were La’Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon. They both sang their hearts out during the performance episode the night before and the judges commented that this could be the closest vote in the show’s history.

The finale featured performances from nearly every memorable contestant from the show’s fifteen years on the air!

Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, & LaToya London Perform at 'American Idol' Finale (Video)

Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino, and LaToya London reunite for a pre-taped performance during the American Idol series finale, which aired on Thursday (April 7).

The ladies were known as the “three divas” during the third season of the show, which Fantasia ultimately won.

Jennifer, Fantasia, and LaToya kicked off the medley with “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and Jennifer then continued with “Remember The Music” from the Empire soundtrack.

Fantasia also performed her new single “Ugly” while a bunch of other former finalists and winners like Brandon Rogers, Clark Beckham, George Huff, Elliott Yamin, Danny Gokey, Taylor Hicks, Joshua Ledet, Candice Glover, and Melinda Doolittle also performed during the medley.

Jennifer Lopez totally slays the stage while performing at the American Idol series finale in a pre-taped performance aired on Thursday (April 7).

'American Idol' Finalists Reunite for 'One Voice' Finale Performance!

American Idol top three La’Porsha Renae, Trent Harmon and Dalton Rapattoni help open the show’s finale with a performance of “One Voice” on Thursday (April 7).

The three contestants reunited with the rest of season 15′s finalists for the song and were also joined by some of the greatest voices in the show’s history!
