'American Sniper' Is Officially 2014's Top Grossing Movie

American Sniper has officially become the top grossing movie released in 2014!

The film has now grossed $337.21 million in its domestic run, topping The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which has grossed $336.796 million so far.

While American Sniper, which stars Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller, didn’t open in wide release until mid-January, it was released in limited theaters on December 25, 2014.

The film has grossed over $475 million worldwide and it was nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture.

Chris Kyle Murder Trial Verdict: Eddie Ray Routh Sentenced

The verdict has been announced in the Chris Kyle murder trial and his killer Eddie Ray Routh has been found guilty.

Chris was the subject of the film American Sniper and he was tragically gunned down in February 2013 by Routh, a veteran who he was trying to help. The verdict was decided by a jury in less than two and a half hours.

Mr. Routh will be spending the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole. He also took to life of Chris‘ friend Chad Littlefield.

Chris‘ wife Taya Kyle stepped out at the Oscars over the weekend to support the movie, which was nominated for Best Picture and five other awards.

American Sniper's Taya Kyle Walks Oscars 2015 Red Carpet

Taya Kyle is gorgeous in green while making her entrance on the red carpet at the 2015 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 22) in Hollywood.

The 40-year-old activist is the real-life wife of Chris Kyle, the subject of the movie American Sniper.

Taya was at the show to support the movie, which was nominated for six awards including Best Picture. While it didn’t win the big prize of the night, it did pick up the award for Best Sound Editing.

'American Sniper' Scores Biggest Super Bowl Weekend Box Office Gross of All Time!

American Sniper continues to break records by earning $31.85 million at the box office during the weekend of the 2015 Super Bowl!

According to THR, the Clint Eastwood-directed flick starring Bradley Cooper narrowly beat out the previous record of $31.1 million held by Miley Cyrus‘ 2008 Hanna Montana concert movie.

Coming at No. 2 was Paddington, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Bonneville, which grossed an additional $8.5 million in its third week.

Not far behind in third was Michael Bay‘s thriller Project Almanac, starring Jonny Weston and Sofia Black-D’Elia, which brought in $8.5 million as well.

Rounding out the top five were Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer‘s Black or White, and The Boy Next Door, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Guzman, which earned $6.5 million and $6.1 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, The Loft, starring James Marsden, came in at No. 10 with a soft $2.9 million opening.

'American Sniper' Easily Tops Weekend Box Office Again, While 'The Boy Next Door' Has Solid Opening

American Sniper has won the weekend box office once again with a whopping $64.4 million gross!

According to THR, the Clint Eastwood-directed flick starring Bradley Cooper is quickly becoming the No. 2 war film of all time at the North American box office, not accounting for inflation, with a domestic total of $200.1 million.

Coming at No. 2 was The Boy Next Door, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Guzman, which earned a solid $15 million in its first weekend.

Third place went to Paddington, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Bonneville, which grossed an additional $12.4 million for a $40.1 million total.

Rounding out the top five were Kevin Hart‘s new comedy The Wedding Ringer and Liam Neeson‘s Taken 3, which brought in $11.6 million and $7.6 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp and Gwyneth Paltrow‘s new comedy Mordecai fell below expectations, only making $4.1 million.

Jennifer Aniston new film Cake opened in 482 theaters, earning an estimated $1 million for a screen average of $2,074.

'American Sniper' Widow Taya Kyle Hosts Charity Event with Sarah Palin

Taya Kyle gets into a photo with Sarah Palin while attending a charity event thrown in honor of special ops veterans at the Vegas Show Show on Thursday (January 22) in Las Vegas.

If you don’t know yet, Taya is the widow of Chris Kyle, the late Navy SEAL that the movie American Sniper is based on.

American Sniper's Fake Plastic Baby Has Everyone Talking - Watch Now!

The use of a fake plastic baby in American Sniper has the critics and fans talking and everyone seems to agree that it was a strange choice!

A clip from the film starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller is making waves around the Internet featuring the fake plastic baby and the subject has been touched upon in major publications and television programs. Some argue that the baby should have been made CGI or just cut from the scene entirely.

In a tweet (which has since been deleted), screenwriter Jason Hall explained, “hate to ruin the fun but real baby #1 showed up with a fever. Real baby #2 was no show. (Clint voice) Gimme the doll, kid.”
