Amy decided to share her take of what happened after the Today show released a statement.

The Weinstein Company has just released a statement after Amy Adams was unable to promote their latest film Big Eyes on the Today Show on Monday (December 22).

The 40-year-old actress’ appearance on the show was cancelled after she elected not to speak about the Sony hack, which is still the talk of the entertainment industry.

“We firmly stand behind Amy Adams. We’ve been lucky enough to have had her talents grace several of our films. We are certain her fellow actors and directors would all agree, she is nothing but the consummate professional both on and off set,” the film studio shared.

Amy Adams Gets Booted from 'Today' Show Because She Didn't Want to Discuss the Sony Hack

Amy Adams was booted from The Today Show on Monday morning (December 22) because she didn’t want to discuss the Sony hack, sources confirm to

The Big Eyes actress was in New York City this weekend to host Saturday Night Live and stayed in town for an extra day to make the morning show appearance to promote her movie.

Before heading to the studio, her team was informed that she would be asked about the Sony hack and then she was told again upon arrival. Amy asked the producer if they could avoid the subject, but they insisted that “Today is a news organization” and she was told no one can dictate their interviews, according to Deadline.

Amy let it go and prepared to answer the question during the interview, but right before she was set to go on air, the segment was pulled, effectively wasting her time.

While Amy‘s salary for the movie American Hustle was part of the leaked documents, she has no ties to the hacking scandal or the movie The Interview.

Amy‘s reps couldn’t be reached for comment at this time.
