Keira Knightley, Reese Witherspoon, & More Cover 'W' Magazine's Best Performances Issue

The Imitation Game co-stars Keira Knightley and Benedict Cumberbatch share a cover for W Magazine‘s Best Performances issue for February 2015 issue.

Other cover stars include Wild‘s Reese Witherspoon, Big EyesAmy Adams, and Still Alice‘s Julianne Moore. Here is what they had to share with the mag:

Benedict on playing female roles at his all boys school: “Both my parents are actors, and they discouraged me from the profession. But I thought their lives were so romantic. And I did loads of plays when I was at school. It was all boys, so I got to play girls. It’s scary how epicene I was. I got the female thing down. My parents were a little worried at that point—they thought they’d lost me to the other side of the board.”

Reese on dreading her Wild sex scenes: “The sex scenes in Wild were the most explicit I’ve ever done. I dreaded those days of shooting, but they were important. Otherwise, it’s just a hiking movie—and that’s not interesting.”

Amy Adams is All Smiles at 'Big Eyes' Screening Following 'Today Show' Cancellation

Amy Adams is in great spirits while stepping out for a special screening of her new movie Big Eyes held at iPic Westwood on Tuesday night (December 23) in Westwood, Calif.

The 40-year-old actress was joined by producer Harvey Weinstein and co-writers Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander.

Big Eyes is a drama about the awakening of the painter Margaret Keane, her phenomenal success in the 1950s, and the subsequent legal difficulties she had with her husband, who claimed credit for her works in the 1960s.

This is Amy‘s first public appearance since The Today Show cancelled her spot on the show because she didn’t want to to discuss the Sony hack.

Amy Adams Was 'Confused & Definitely Frustrated' After 'Today' Show Pulled Interview

Amy Adams has opened up more about her cancelled interview on the Today show, which was supposed to happen earlier this week.

“I expressed that I was uncomfortable. I said I would rather not add my voice to this conversation,” the 40-year-old actress shared to USA Today. “But it was clear they were drawing a hard line. That this would be part of the conversation.”

She added, “I walked away from the conversation and went up to the room to do the interview. I assumed they were going to ask me about (Sony hacking). And I was prepared for that, to whatever degree I was prepared.”

“I was informed that they had decided to pull the interview,” Amy said. “I was confused and definitely frustrated. I still don’t understand.”

Amy decided to share her take of what happened after the Today show released a statement.

'Today' Show Releases Statement After Cancelling Amy Adams Interview

The Today show has released a statement detailing their side of the story after it was reported that Amy Adamsinterview on the morning show was cancelled on Monday (December 22).

“As a news program, the Today show doesn’t allow guests to put restrictions on interviews,” a rep for the Today said (via Us Weekly). “In this case, after hours of discussion we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made, and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview.”

Another Today show insider added, “As a professional courtesy, Amy and her team were told well in advance that she might get asked about Sony, and that it was entirely up to her whether she wanted to answer.”

The Weinstein Company released a statement adding their support to Amy and her decision.

Amy Adams Gets Full Backing From Weinstein Company After 'Today Show' Boot - Read Statement!

The Weinstein Company has just released a statement after Amy Adams was unable to promote their latest film Big Eyes on the Today Show on Monday (December 22).

The 40-year-old actress’ appearance on the show was cancelled after she elected not to speak about the Sony hack, which is still the talk of the entertainment industry.

“We firmly stand behind Amy Adams. We’ve been lucky enough to have had her talents grace several of our films. We are certain her fellow actors and directors would all agree, she is nothing but the consummate professional both on and off set,” the film studio shared.

It added, “Amy decided to speak up for herself and express her disappointment that Today would feel the need to ask her a question she did not feel comfortable , and rather than respect her opinion or continue the discussion, the reaction was to pull her appearance from the show.”
