Amy Poehler & John Stamos Went on a Date and She 'Blew It'

Amy Poehler smiles and waves to her fans as she arrives for a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday (October 27) in New York City.

The 43-year-old Parks & Recreation actress and “Yes Please” author recently opened up on the Howard Stern Show about going on a date with John Stamos!

“It was new and weird. I hadn’t dated when there was texting. I got married in 2003 and all of a sudden I’m like, Oh, right now you text somebody. That was new,” Amy said on the show. “There were times when I was out with guys and I was like, Oh, I think I might be on a date, but I don’t know.”

“I remember I was at dinner with John Stamos…and I was like, ‘Oh, maybe this is a date!’… but I blew it,” Amy added. “I remember thinking, like, ‘Oh s***, if this is really a date, I think I was wearing a Leslie Knope shirt — I think a shirt from [Parks and Recreation.] I wasn’t foxy.”

“I think everything ended up the way it was supposed to end up,” Amy added, when Howard asked if she was upset they didn’t consummate the relationship!

Amy Poehler Is Bold & Colorful For 'O' Magazine November 2014 Feature

Amy Poehler rocks a very colorful romper for a feature in O Magazine‘s November 2014 issue, out on newsstands now!

Here’s what the 43-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On her best conversation starter: “Hey, did you steal my wallet? Just kidding. What’s your name?”

On her beset hobby: “Sketching and drawing with my 6-year-old son. We tape the pictures to the wall and pretend our house is a mini art gallery. This will turn him into either a cultured museum enthusiast or a narcissist who believes all his artwork is good enough to hang.”

On her best mistake: “Thinking everything is going to run smoothly all the time. It won’t – things will always go wrong – but it never hurts to be optimistic.”

On her best indulgence: “Fancy underwear, which I buy all over the world. I’m not shy about throwing away my gently used pairs and replacing them with new ones.”

Amy Poehler Details Her Experiences with Drugs Including Cocaine, Ecstasy, & Marijuana

Amy Poehler‘s new book “Yes Please” is coming out on October 28, and slowly, new passages from the novel are rolling in – including one involving past drug use.

“I tried cocaine, which I instantly loved but eventually hated. Cocaine is terrific if you want to hang out with people you don’t know very well and play Ping-Pong all night. It’s bad for almost everything else…The day after cocaine is rough,” the 43-year-old Parks and Recreation actress wrote (via Radar Online).

However, Ecstasy was not as enjoyable. “I remember a wonderful [United Citizens Brigade] New Year’s Eve party where we all danced and drank water and loved each other,” Amy wrote. “I also remember the next day when I thought I had no friends and I was so sad I wanted to sink into the carpet and permanently live there.”

Amy does admit to occasional marijuana use, but tries to lay off of it too much because of her sons Archie and Abel.

“The next day is the thing I can’t pull off anymore. How do you explain to a 4- and 6-year-old that you can’t play Rescue Bots because you have to spend all day in bed eating Cape Cod potato chips and watching The Bicycle Thief?” Amy humorously writes.

Amy Poehler Finally Breaks Her Silence On Her Divorce From Will Arnett

Amy Poehler is finally breaking her silence on her divorce from fellow comedian Will Arnett.

“Imagine spreading everything you care about on a blanket and then tossing the whole thing up in the air,” the 43-year-old actress wrote in her new book “Yes Please” (via E! News). “The process of divorce is about loading that blanket, throwing it up, watching it all spin, and worrying what stuff will break when it lands.”

“When you are a person going through a divorce you feel incredibly alone, yet you are constantly reminded by society of how frequently divorce happens and how common it has become. You aren’t allowed to feel special, but no one knows the specific ways you are in pain,” Amy added. “I am proud of how my ex-husband Will and I have been taking care of our children. I am beyond grateful he is their father, and I don’t think a 10-year marriage constitutes failure.”

Amy also said that the divorce was “too sad” and “too personal” to discuss further. Will and Amy first separated back in 2012.

“Yes Please” hits stores on October 28.

Amy Poehler Calls Out Male Privilege in This Awesome Way

Amy Poehler and Adam Scott get into their spiffy evening wear to film a scene for their show Parks and Recreation on Thursday (August 28) in Pasadena, Calif.

The 42-year-old actress appeared on a recent episode of The Approval Matrix and host Neal Brennan told her that for the modern man, “Being cool is, like, passé. And now you have to be awkward and adorkable.”

“Well, this feeling that you’re having right now — which is like, ‘I’m supposed to be all things’ — is a feeling that women have every day and have their whole lives. So you’re just starting to experience it now,” Amy responded. “We have to deal with all those juxtapositions every day, but I’m glad you’re finally experiencing it as a white male.”
