Amy, 44, and Tina, 45, are starring in this December’s new film Sisters, out in theaters on December 18.
“It just wouldn’t make sense playing sisters with anyone else,” Tina said about the movie.
“Neither Tina or I have sisters in real life,” Amy added. “We are each other’s chosen sister. We’re kind of like sisters and our parents are show business. We call each other to complain about how mom and dad have treated us at Thanksgiving.”

Amy Poehler hits the stage to perform with Jack Black during the 2015 Festival Supreme on Saturday (October 10) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The 44-year-old actress wore sunglasses and had a cigarette in her hand as she performed an epic cover of Bette Midler‘s hit song “The Rose” alongside Jack.
Amy is a longtime fan of Bette and once opened up about her idol in an interview.
“I first met Bette Midler in my head when I watched the film The Rose in 1979,” Amy told Vulture last year. “And since then, her and I have been best friends, in my head. In my head, she and I travel together, we have cut an album, and we pranked George Clooney. She’s the godmother to the children of mine that she has never met, and once, Bette turned to me in a dream and said, ‘Amy, you are the most talented person I’ve ever met. I hate to say this, this kills me, but you’re more talented than me. God bless you and I release you to God,’ and then she turned into a million doves and flew away.”
