Beyonce opens up to Anderson Cooper in an interview on his CNN show Anderson Cooper 360° to talk about her “I Was Here” music video, which will be released in conjunction with World Humanitarian Day.
“It says, ‘I want to leave my footprints in the sands of time’ and it basically is all of our dreams, I think. And that’s leaving our mark on the world. I feel like we all want to know that our life meant something,” the 30-year-old singer explained about the song.
“We all have our purpose, and we all have our strengths…it feels so wonderful to do something for someone else. And I think for the U.N. to want to include the whole world was something important, and I feel like that’s what I represent,” Beyonce told Anderson.
Check out a preview of the interview below and catch the full clip on Anderson Cooper 360° tonight (August 15) at 8pm and 10pm on CNN!
