Taylor Swift‘s mom Andrea takes the stage to give an emotional speech and introduce her daughter at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards held at AT&T Stadium on Sunday (April 19) in Arlington, Tex.

The 25-year-old entertainer was one of several artists to be recognized that evening and awarded the Milestone award.

Taylor‘s mom, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, talked about watching her daughter grow up into the woman she is today.

“I’m so unbelievably proud that I learned to treat people with kindness and respect from country music,” Taylor said in her acceptance speech.

Taylor Swift revealed to her fans that her mom has been diagnosed with cancer.

Since revealing the horrible news, the 25-year-old entertainer and her mother have been getting an outpouring of support from her fans and fellow celebrities. #PrayForMamaSwift has been trending for hours.

“#PrayForMamaSwift We love you Taylor, Austin, mama and daddy Swift.” Taylor‘s BFF Jaime King tweeted to her after the news.

“@taylorswift13 ❤️stay strong. Love to your Mom.” Mindy Kaling wrote to Taylor.

Taylor Swift has just revealed that her mom Andrea has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 25-year-old entertainer took to her Tumblr to write a note to fans and tell them the sad news.

“I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I’d like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know.
She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they’ve got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle… Or peace of mind in knowing that they’re healthy and there’s nothing to worry about. She wanted you to know why she may not be at as many shows this tour. She’s got an important battle to fight,” Taylor wrote.

We wish Taylor and her family the very best, and we wish Andrea a speedy recovery.
