'Walking Dead' Renewed for Season Five by AMC!

Awesome news for all of the fans of The Walking Dead – the show has been renewed for a fifth season by AMC!

The news was pretty much inevitable as the zombie series has established itself as the number one show across all television networks. The season four premiere hit a record high of 16.1 million viewers.

“We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever:The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president in a statement. “This is a show that has erased traditional distinctions between cable and broadcast. Its expanding base of passionate fans has grown every season, most recently – and most notably – with the season four premiere earlier this month, which broke viewership records for the series and became the biggest non-sports telecast in cable history. On behalf of the incredible team on both sides of the camera, thank you to the fans and here’s to more Dead.”

“I came to a realization that my life, at a certain point, has changed forever. That’s strange. I freaked out a little bit. I stopped going outside my house. I started hermitting a little. If you had any insecurities, it just magnifies them because now you have the world watching. But I’m coming to terms with it,” Steven recently shared to Rolling Stone about how the show’s success has affected him.
