“Film is such an international medium, and our sporting prowess is well understood internationally, but I think, on a diplomatic level it does diversify the perception of what Australia is capable of culturally,” Cate told Gotham‘s Summer issue.
“That was a big ambition for Andrew and me when we returned to Australia to lead the company,” she added. “We knew from direct experience the depth of talent in Australia, and it was a big ambition for us to get the work out.”

In Big and Small, audiences are whisked down a rabbit hole and into a curious Wonderland-like world where Cate‘s character is always trying to fit in.

Cate will hit the big screen next in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which is set to be released in December. In the story, Bilbo Baggins journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a group of dwarves to reclaim a treasure taken from them.

Cate will soon be returning to the New York stage! Uncle Vanya, which starred Cate and Hugo Weaving and played Washington DC’s John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts last summer, will hit NY’s City Center from July 19 through July 28, according to the New York Times.
