“My child, Shiloh brought the book to me, she had read it and she loved it,” she revealed of the movie, inspired by the book written by Katherine Applegate.

She also revealed that she felt it was a great way for her child to learn about “what activism can do and what sanctuaries are,” adding “there’s family and self-discovery.”

Angelina also opened up about how filming worked.

“We would do our voices, we would play with the scene and we would see what was created in CG and the VFX. We would redo the performance because the slowness of the breath or how long it takes to drag her feet when she’s tired. Everyone would take painstaking efforts [to recreate and readjust that moment] because it mattered in this film…I remember the first time I saw some of the animals, I thought, ‘There’s a soul to it,’” she said.

“You don’t realize how much work is put into it…sometimes it’s obvious that this is a CG thing or some action. You don’t watch the movie thinking ‘Is this fake or is it real?’ You are engrossed in the emotion of the characters.”

She also joked she had an elephant onesie that she wore for a few voice sessions,

“That was my method moment,” she joked.

“You’re doing a being. What is this being? She has the weight and heaviness of being an older elephant. It was thinking about the being that had been captive and had been harmed, and an elephant who was worried about the next generation – what is the soul of an elephant, that’s what it was.”

Angelina is on the cover of British Vogue‘s new issue and she opened up the mag about life with her kids during the pandemic.

“I think that like most families, we have had this bigger thing happening with the pandemic. But of course you also have these life markers. We went into it having just gotten out of the hospital with Zahara [who underwent surgery early last year], and we were so happy she was OK that we entered lockdown in a different state of mind,” Angelina said. “But, you know, there are also these other markers of life: Pax going into his senior year, but not being able to enjoy all that it is to be a senior; Zahara finally getting her driving license, but she’s taking the test with the driver wrapped in the full outfit with the masks. It’s not how you imagine these moments. But birthdays go on, and I think that for many people, it’s made us all feel very human together. There’s something beautiful about that.”

Angelina Jolie Is Selling Winston Churchill's Painting & It's Worth Millions

You may not have known this about Angelina Jolie, but she is actually the owner of the only painting created by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill during World War II…and that painting is now for sale!

The painting is actually being sold by the “Jolie Family Collection,” Christie’s, the famous auction house, revealed. The 45-year-old actress acquired the painting in 2011 but it is not known how.

“It is the only work that Churchill painted during the war, perhaps encouraged by the recent progress made by the Allies in what he considered to be one of the most beautiful countries he had encountered,” Nick Orchard, head of modern British art at auction house Christie’s, said in a statement via CNN.

The piece is expected to earn £1.5 million to £2.5 million ($2 million to $3.4 million) when sold.

The painting is called the “Tower of the Koutoubia Mosque” and Churchill painted it in Marrakech, Morocco, after attending the Casablanca Conference in January 1943.

Angelina Jolie Mentions Brad Pitt, Discusses Her 'Hard' Past Few Years: 'I've Been Focusing on Healing'

Angelina Jolie is on the cover of the March 2021 issue of British Vogue, and she very briefly mentioned Brad Pitt, and referenced having a difficult past few years as she navigates a lengthy divorce.

Here are a few highlights from the interview…

On living in the former estate of Cecil B DeMille, and her brief mention of Brad Pitt: “I wanted it to be close to their dad, who is only five minutes away. I felt a little pressure moving in. Like I had snuck into where DeMille and Chaplin would hang out. I love most that there is no entertainment room, but lots of pathways and places to walk and think. I feel very fortunate we have that at this time.”

On if she’s happy: “I don’t know. The past few years have been pretty hard. I’ve been focusing on healing our family. It’s slowly coming back, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body. But I’m not there. I’m not there yet. But I hope to be. I’m planning on it. I do like being older. I feel much more comfortable in my forties than I did when I was younger. Maybe because… I don’t know… maybe because my mom didn’t live very long, so there’s something about age that feels like a victory instead of a sadness for me.”

On turning 50 in five years: “I’m looking forward to my fifties – I feel that I’m gonna hit my stride in my fifties. Though we were on the trampoline the other day, and the children said, “No, Mom, don’t do that. You’ll hurt yourself.” And I thought, “God, isn’t that funny?” There was a day I was an action star, and now the kids are telling me to get off the trampoline because I’ll hurt myself.”

Angelina Jolie Has Important Advice for Women Who Fear Being Abused During Holiday Season

Angelina Jolie is working with the United Nations to provide support for women around the world who fear being abused over the holidays.

The 45-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who is the Special Envoy of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, spoke to Harper’s Bazaar U.K. about UN Women’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

Here is the advice that Angelina had for women who fear they will suffer abuse during the holiday season.

“Talk to someone. Try to find allies. Be connected for emergencies. For example, you can agree a code word with a friend or family member, which tells them if you are facing an emergency,” Angelina said. “Begin to build a network and gain knowledge. It’s sad to say, but you can’t assume all friends and family will always want to believe and support you. Often it will be strangers who help. Or other victims, support groups, or faith groups. Above all, be careful. Only you really know the danger you are in, and until you find your support outside, you may feel quite alone.”

Wondering how you can support a friend who you think might be experiencing abuse?

Angelina said, “If it has even crossed your mind that someone you know might be vulnerable in this way, try to stay close and present in their lives. Make it clear that you are there for them. Another thing we can all do is educate ourselves. Learn about domestic violence. Learn how trauma affects our health and can lead to biological changes, particularly in children. Take these issues seriously.”
