Anika Noni Rose speaks on the Bentonville Film Festival’s panel discussion about the importance of diversity and inclusion on Saturday (January 20) in Park City, Utah.

The Tony-winning actress, who showed off her new fierce red hair, was joined by fellow actors Colman Domingo, Jay Ellis, and Janina Gavankar for the discussion, which highlighted the need for more female and diverse characters on-screen and how that influences society off-screen.

The event was held during the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and presented by Google. It was held at the DIRECTV Lodge presented by AT&T.

Anika was at the festival to premiere her movie Assassination Nation, which is currently the highest-selling film at Sundance with a $10 million purchase from Neon!

The term #MeToo trended on Twitter all day on Sunday (October 15), thanks in large part to Alyssa Milano.

In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault scandal, the 44-year-old actress tweeted an idea: “Suggested by a friend: If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‘Me too’ as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.”

“If you’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted write ‘me too’ as a reply to this tweet,” she wrote.

Responses have come flooding in ever since from hundreds of women, including “me too” replies from Debra Messing and Anna Paquin.

Lea Thompson, Kristin Bauer, Sophia Bush and Anika Noni Rose are just a few of the other stars who have replied to the powerful movement.

Issa Rae and Anika Noni Rose are totally ruling the red carpet!

The two women stepped out at the 2017 Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

While Issa opted for a stunning red, one-shouldered gown, Anika went with a flowing, nude gown.

Both Issa and Anika are set to present awards during the evening.

During a scene in the upcoming movie Ralph Breaks the Internet, a sequel to Wreck-It-Ralph, Sarah Silverman‘s princess character Vanellope von Schweetz travels through the internet and comes across a Disney fan site where there is a dressing room with all the Disney princesses like Elsa, Moana, Mulan, Snow White, and more.

Paige O’Hara (Belle), Irene Bedard (Pocahontas), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel), Auli’i Cravalho (Moana), Sarah Silverman (Vanellope von Schweetz), Kristen Bell (Anna), Kelly Macdonald (Merida), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Linda Larkin (Jasmine) and Jodi Benson (Ariel) all met up on stage at the expo and this was the first time they’ve been together in person!

Anika Noni Rose hits the stage to perform the song “Go the Distance” from Hercules at the D23 Expo’s Legends Awards on Friday morning (July 14) in Anaheim, Calif.

The Tony-winning actress was the voice of Tiana in the Disney movie The Princess and the Frog.

It’s very possible that someone will be singing “Go the Distance” live on Broadway in the near future as songwriter Alan Menken revealed that there are plans to bring the classic musical to the Great White Way.

The 44-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson.

The movie, which is based on Nicola Yoon‘s novel of the same name, follows 18-year-old Maddie, who has never left her home due to an illness.

When Olly moves in next door, her world is completely changed.
