In the series, the 18-year-old actress takes on the role of a young Carrie Bradshaw, which was made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker in the comedy Sex and the City.

Here’s the synopsis: It’s 1984 and life isn’t easy for 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw. Her mom passed away and she’s struggling to find happiness again. Nothing seems to take her mind off her troubles, not even the hot new transfer student Sebastian (Austin Butler). Then, her dad offers her the chance to intern at a law firm in Manhattan and everything changes! Once there, her eyes are opened to the glitz and glamour of New York City and she falls in love.

The Carrie Diaries is set to premiere in January on The CW!

Rose Byrne and AnnaSophia Robb celebrate the opening of the Marilyn exhibition on Tuesday (June 19) in Florence, Italy.

The exhibition, held inside the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo located at Palazzo Spini Feroni, pays tribute to Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe 50 years after her death.

Guests at the bash were given private tours of the exhibition followed by a cocktail dinner.

Visitors will be able to see 30 pairs of shoes and more than 50 outfits from the actress’s wardrobe, worn on the set of her most important movies, in her personal life, and in public.

Rachel Bilson arrives at The CW’s Upfront After Party held at the Colicchio and Sons restaurant on Thursday (May 17) in New York City.

The 30-year-old Hart of Dixie actress had dinner at Beauty & Essex before making her way to the party.

Kristin Kreuk and AnnaSophia Robb attend The CW’s Upfront presentation held at New York City Center on Thursday (May 17) in NYC.

Both actresses have a new series on the network – AnnaSophia takes on the role of a young Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries, while Kristin stars in Beauty and the Beast. Check out a preview clip below!

“One of our biggest priorities this year at the CW was adding more original programming, and we’ve added 50 original hours to our schedule in 2012,” network president Mark Pedowitz said at the presentation. “With dynamic new dramas for the fall and midseason, and our first-ever summer schedule leading into our October fall launch, this is poised to be a transformative season for The CW.”

AnnaSophia Robb sparkles in a silver dress on the set of The Carrie Diaries on Sunday (April 1) in New York City.

Later in the evening, the 18-year-old actress changed into a pink polka dot dress to film a rainy night scene.

AnnaSophia, who’s taking on the role of Carrie Bradshaw for the CW’s new Sex and the City 1980s spinoff series, was also spotted on set wearing a pair of hot pink pants.

AnnaSophia has been hard at work shooting for the show lately – check out the gorgeous dress she wore on set earlier in the week!
