Anthony Bourdain, known as one of the most influential chefs in the world, has tragically died at the age of 61.

The cause of death was suicide, CNN confirmed on Friday morning (June 8).

“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time,” the network said in a statement.

Anthony was in France working on Parts Unknown, his CNN series, when he was found unresponsive by his close friend Eric Ripert in his hotel room.

Anthony Bourdain is speaking out about sexual harassment in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal that’s since rocked Hollywood.

The 61-year-old American chef, who recently tweeted in support of girlfriend Asia Argento after she came forward with her own allegation against the film producer, spoke to Refinery29 about “meathead culture” within the restaurant industry.

“It’s probably too late to change the hearts, minds, and attitudes of generations of old-school male chefs, but it’s definitely not too late to change their behavior, if only out of self-interest. Others within the industry will need to ask themselves, ‘What was I doing when this sort of behavior was going on around me? Was I the sort of person that people could confide in?’” he said.

“I think there are going to be some very ugly scandals. I think some major figures are going to go down, in much the same way that they’re looking at Weinstein, they’re going to say, ‘How could this have happened for all these years?’ Not only how could this have happened [but], ‘Why didn’t anyone say anything?’ I well understand why victims don’t [come forward, but] what about everybody else?”

Anthony also spoke about our society moving forward: “Maybe it’s too late for our children… but I think our children’s children will grow up in a different world where instinctively they will find inexcusable the sort of workplaces that people of my generation saw as normal.”

Asia Argento is one of the women who bravely came forward today in allegations that Harvey Weinstein forcibly performed oral intercourse on her in 1997, and now her boyfriend, Anthony Bourdain, is publicly supporting her.

“He asks me to give a massage. I was, like, ‘Look man, I am no f�”�”g fool.’ But, looking back, I am a f�”�”g fool. And I am still trying to come to grips with what happened,” Asia recalled about her non-consensual encounter with Harvey in a hotel room in France decades ago. “It wouldn’t stop. It was a nightmare.”

Anthony, a celebrity chef and TV personality, and Asia first went public with their relationship back in February.

Sienna Miller stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (April 19) and participated in a hilarious, food-tasting game called Secret Ingredient!

The 35-year-old actress was joined by Jimmy, 42, and special guest, Chef Anthony Bourdain, as they each took turns guessing the unusual secret ingredient hidden in each course of a three-course meal, earning a point if they guess right.

The trio had to guess ingredients like Juicy Fruit gum, Oreo cookie, cheese and hot sauce.

Sienna also sat down on the couch and talked about her current, temporary home in the middle of the woods, and she and Jimmy act out a bit of her latest film The Lost City of Z.
