Millie Bobby Brown is taking on a huge new role.

The 16-year-old Stranger Things actress will star in a Universal adaptation of graphic novel The Electric State, directed by Avengers brother duo Joe and Anthony Russo, Deadline reported Friday (December 18).

According to insiders, the film is “being fast-tracked,” but Millie‘s shooting schedule with a new season of Stranger Things and the Russos directing The Gray Man adaptation next month makes it unclear when this would get into production, “but the hope is between the end of 2021 or the top of 2022.”

Here’s a plot summary: “Set in an alternative future, it tells the story of a teenage girl (Brown) who realizes that a strange but sweet robot who comes to her has actually been sent by her missing brother. She and the robot set out to find the brother in an imaginative world of humans mixing with all manner of robots, uncovering a grand conspiracy in the process.”

“We’re thrilled to have this deal with Universal who has committed to a theatrical release of Electric State. This is incredible news for us as filmmakers, and for audiences around the world who want an opportunity to experience film’s in theaters again. This is also a positive sign that, as vaccines become available, the theatrical market is returning,” the Russos said in a statement.

Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling will star in the upcoming movie The Gray Man, which is set to be the most expensive movie ever made by Netflix.

Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the movie, which has a budget upward of $200 million, according to Deadline.

The action thriller has the potential of becoming a franchise for Ryan‘s character. The story is described as “a deadly duel between killers as Gentry (Gosling) is hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former cohort of Gentry’s at the CIA.”

“The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do,” Anthony Russo told Deadline. “For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real-world setting. That’s what this movie really means for us.”

Joe Russo added, “The intention is for it to be competitive with any theatrical, and the ability to do with with Gosling and Evans is a dream for us. The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe, with Ryan at the center of it. We have all committed to the first movie, and that’s got to be great to get us to the second movie. These are master assassins, and Gosling’s characters gets burned by the CIA and Evans’ character has to hunt him down. We have a great working relationship with Netflix, and we go back almost 20 years with Scott Stuber. We formed AGBO to be an agnostic storytelling company, where we figure out the best platform. We think Netflix is the perfect place for this film.”

Netflix just revealed the top 10 most watched original movies on the streaming service.

There’s new Avengers: Endgame footage! Sort of.

Following the one year anniversary of the film’s release, the Marvel movie’s directors, the Russo Brothers, posted behind-the-scenes footage on Tuesday (April 28) of Chris Evans‘ last moments on the set.

“See…he’s not that old…” they captioned the clip of Chris goofing around in his old makeup.

Spoilers ahead! In the film, Captain America gets his happy ending with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), passing on the title to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and appearing as an old man.

In this new clip, he runs around and throws a rock as the crew laughs along.

Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden are teaming up for a new show.

The 37-year-old The Sky Is Pink actress and the 33-year-old Bodyguard actor have snagged the lead roles in Amazon’s upcoming series Citadel, it was announced on Tuesday (January 14) at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, THR reports.

It hails from Avengers directors the Russo brothers, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.

A premiere date and plot details are not yet known, though it is being described as an “action-driven spy series.”

Citadel is a reportedly a “global thriller” that will feature “interconnected, local-language versions of the story in several other countries” in addition to the main show.

“Cannot wait to work alongside the super talented @maddenrichard and incredible @therussobrothers on this new series,” Priyanka Chopra shared on Instagram. “Get ready! CITADEL will be a multi-layered global franchise with interconnected local language productions from India, Italy and Mexico. It will truly be global content. Joe and Anthony Russo are weighing in on an ongoing debate about Marvel movies.

The Avengers: Endgame directors spoke out after Martin Scorsese openly criticized Marvel films as “not cinema,” and later expanded on the thought in an op-ed.

“Ultimately, we define cinema as a film that can bring people together to have a shared, emotional experience,” Joe told The Hollywood Reporter.

“When we look at the box office [of] Avengers: Endgame, we don’t see that as a signifier of financial success, we see it as a signifier of emotional success. It’s a movie that had an unprecedented impact on audiences around the world in the way that they shared that narrative and the way that they experienced it. And the emotions they felt watching it,” he went on to say.

“But, at the end of the day, what do we know? We’re just two guys from Cleveland, Ohio, and ‘cinema’ is a New York word. In Cleveland, we call them movies.”

“The other way to think about it, too, is nobody owns cinema. We don’t own cinema. You don’t own cinema. Scorsese doesn’t own cinema,” added Anthony.

The Russo Brothers – aka Joe Russo and Anthony Russo – are working on an adaptation of Grimjack as well as a live-action adaptation of Battle of the Planets!

The producers and directors made the announcement at the “Writing Avengers: Endgame” Panel during 2019 Comic-Con International at San Diego Convention Center on Friday (July 19) in San Diego, Variety reports.

Grimjack is the main character of a comic book, first appearing in 1983, while Battle of the Planets is an animated series that ran from 1978-1985.

Joe Russo said he and his brother would hurry home after school every day to turn on Battle of the Planets, and Anthony Russo added that “Grimjack” was a “deep cut“ that they were fond of as kids.

Marvel Studios and directors Anthony and Joe Russo are celebrating the in-home release of Avengers: Endgame with the “We Love You 3000″ Tour!

The event is being held to thank fans who have invested 11 years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the single most successful franchise in film history, according to a press release.

Special guests from Marvel Studios and the MCU will visit nine U.S. cities.

A total of 3,000 MCU Funko Pop Vinyl Figures will be distributed to fans throughout the tour as well as additional giveaways ranging from exclusive Avengers: Endgame prints to McDonald’s vouchers for a free Happy Meal plus an Avengers: Endgame Happy Meal toy to MCU-inspired sundaes and recipe cards courtesy of Ben & Jerry’s.

Best Buy will serve as the location for five “We Love You 3000” Tour stops, hosting in-store fan events to celebrate the nationwide release of Avengers: Endgame on Blu-ray August 13. Events will feature signings with Marvel Studios filmmakers and/or MCU talent, a special digital photo booth, and more.
